They worked it into the story pretty well. If you notice, during the We Are One number, Pike sounds amazingly like Neil Diamond.

@George-K said in Biden’s done more on immigration than Trump.: GOP should run on that. I agree that they should and they probably will. Not everybody, but a lot of voters are very "in the present". "What is happening to the country NOW when the election is held." and I think that will work in the Democrats favor. If Biden closes the border, by the time November comes around, the story the Democrats will say is "last month, only X number of people illegally crossed, there has been a year of 2-3% inflation, Republics are still trying to outlaw abortion, MAGA, etc." For me, looking from 10,000 feet, it is the Democrats election to lose.

It's not working as well as I'd wanted, financially. Also I'm too dependent on private electricity companies willing to buy the power back from me. I hadn't realized this was not a steady and guaranteed thing. I'm having to switch companies after my first year, because my previous company no longer offers their plan. The new one isn't quite as good. Who knows how that market will shape up over the 20 year life span of these panels. Then the warrantee for the panels and the roof under them is only as good as the company that backs it, and the company is showing cracks. They recently lost their BBB accreditation.

In Canada’s case it’s the failure or, negligence of elected politicians and their political advisors to take action on the intelligence brought forward to them by the services gathering and analysing it. The present government in Ottawa is particularly negligent in this regard.

The question then becomes, why would you give them an extra $40/child, when we're already feeding them for free?

@bachophile said in Victory at last: U just know someone is going to accidentally drop some cigarette ash on it by mistake and have it disappear in a blaze of glory within minutes. Imagine how good the next one will be if he has to make another. Lots of practice.

American poor are decidedly not Namibians. I suspect our own people are far less inclined to sieze an opportunity to better their lot.

@Jolly said in Russian Navy: @George-K said in Russian Navy: Good and interesting video. @Jolly said in Russian Navy: intentional engineering flaws Care to elaborate wrt the littoral combat ships? Link to video Make sure you glance through the comments. The Navy tried to marry steel and aluminum. Aluminum cracks under stress and salt water plays hell with it. They tried to undercrew these vessels severely, counting on outside civilian contractors for even some routine maintenance. They had unrealistic goals for speed...That's why aluminum was used. That's why the transmissions won't hold up to the horsepower. Then, they asked the ships to do missions they weren't made for. The Navy could have literally gone to other navies that use these types of ships and bought them off the shelf (for a heckuva lot less money0 similar to what we are doing with the current Italian buy. All this was done to make an unworkable idea work, so some guy gets another star, and the procurement process goes forward. At least in China they shoot their screw-ups...I don't think anybody can screw up this bad with this much money, unless they are actively trying...

We thought we'd move to a smaller condo in the Gold Coast area too. Glad we didn't. The city has a lot of tribulation to go through before they right the ship. Kowtowing to the criminal element won't do it.
