I saw it happen in a park. Picked him up and got him into a foster. Couldn’t leave him there. Just a couple days ago someone left a puppy in a drawstring bag in another local park. The sheriff is looking for them.

@blondie said in Snake Bite: I kept care of a kid with a necrotic foot in the ICU in Alabama. There were 2 patients I recall the year I was there. Both sets of parents brought the snakes in for identification (1 was shot up pretty badly; the other was hacked to death). @Jolly Was religious snake handling ever banned down South? I kind of remember this making the news in Okpella. Pretty much, I think. Doesn't mean some folks don't still do it.

People from developing countries do work harder - but for different reasons. That comes from experiencing material deprivation on basic needs. Americans are driven to work harder - but it doesn't come from this place of risk aversion. It's something cultural.

@George-K said in No More Judys: @Doctor-Phibes said in No More Judys: I can't really imagine Diana Krall or Madeleine Peyroux, for example, using pitch correction software It's the 21st century. If you believe this guy's analysis and comments about Clarkson, I'd be surprised if Krall et al DIDN'T use it. And your comment about Judy Garland is absolutely right. I wonder if Fil has done an episode on Ella Fitzgerald. What got me, was that they were correcting a tv show performance. A tv show! It ain't like the lady doesn't have pipes...

As has been said here before, if you have tattoos above the neck line, there is a good chance that the money you make working will be in a job that does not involve paying taxes.

I loved the accusers’ assertions that somehow this was a fix being in. No, it’s just the justice system working as it should. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of the pig, but I’m also not crazy about prosecutions decades after the fact.

It never bothers me that much. I see specialists for serious things, if I go to a clinic it’s usually for something basic that I’d self-treat but for the need to prescribe drugs or imaging.

There used to be no bag fees until what... 2008 when fuel prices soared? That's when carrying on, it seems, began to be a "how much can I bring on board?" contest.

Secondly, DOT is requiring airlines and ticket agents to tell consumers upfront what fees they charge for checked bags, a carry-on bag, for changing a reservation, or cancelling a reservation. This ensures that consumers can avoid surprise fees when they purchase tickets from airlines or ticket agents, including both brick-and-mortar travel agencies or online travel agencies. We talked about this a while ago about concert tickets, AirBnB, etc. It should be universal. The price for the ticket should include everthing.
