@taiwan_girl said in Lying To The Camera: @Jolly I am not sure where I am incorrect. October 29, 2016 via NPR Comey notified members of Congress that the FBI was again looking into Clinton's use of a private email server. October 31, 2016 via CNN Hillary Clinton’s campaign was jolted when FBI Director James Comey delivered the ultimate October surprise. Eleven days before the 2016 presidential election, Comey announced that the FBI had discovered additional emails and is reviewing them to see whether they are related to the bureau’s investigation into Clinton’s handling of classified information. October 30, 2016 via FOX Here’s one thing we can all say for certain regarding the latest twist of the Hillary Clinton email scandal: James Comey, who was once regarded as the Eliot Ness of law enforcement, a modern day straight-shooter impenetrable to political pressure, will instead leave the office of FBI chief as something closer to Inspector Clouseau. Don’t take my word for it; that’s the assessment of just about every law enforcement official, both former and present, I spoke to in the hours following his bizarre decision on Friday to reopen the case on the legality of Hillary Clinton’s email server, just days before the Nov 8 presidential election. On one hand, we are comparing something that happened...It's a fact Hillary used a private server for official email, including classified documents, then tried to destroy all evidence of doing so. On the other hand, we have a very real laptop from Hunter that contains examples of illegal behavior and possible acceptance of bribes, along with influence peddling. A laptop story that was spiked by MSM and the POTUS said was a lie. A laptop labeled as Russian disinformation by government officials who knew better. See the difference?

It is a problem for both sides, but seems to be more so for the Republics. There are people who win the primary, but are too "out there" for the state or national elections. 2018, 2020, 2022 elections showed that. But that is the way democracy works. In congress districts where it is more local, it works, but it does not transfer well when moving to a national stage. (Example is the disfunction among the Republics in the Congress)

@Axtremus said in SCOTUS to Decide on Legality of Bump Stock: The Supreme Court had decided that: "Bump stock" is legal; the ATF exceeded its power when it banned the device. https://www.yahoo.com/news/supreme-court-strikes-down-trump-era-federal-ban-on-bump-stocks-142254766.html The decision (PDF): https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/22-976_e29g.pdf Thomas wrote for the majority. Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson in the minority. It's a simple ruling. All Congress has to do is pass a law. BATF can't make law up out of thin air

@jon-nyc said in As Placid Lassie flew over Normandy...: Saving Ryan's Privates https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0221532/ During World War II, somewhere in France, Private James Ryan has lost his genitalia in battle--they're missing in action and, that day, his wife Lisa is due to receive three telegrams. An officer sends a platoon, and the platoon leader tells his men, "If that boy and his penis are alive, we're going to find them." When they do find Ryan, he's doesn't want to leave his fellow soldiers, but the platoon leader explains the mission firmly. Private Ryan relents, they shoot their way out, and there's a casualty. Jump ahead 50 years: a grey-haired man kneels at a gravestone as a young man waits beside him. Did someone die in vain, or did Ryan put it to good use?

@Jolly said in Benching Butker: After watching XFL tapes, the Chiefs have determined the kickers were involved in tackles on approximately a third of the kick-offs. That ramps up the possibility of kicker injury. Since kick-offs don't have to travel as far, they are entertaining the notion of a non-kicker doing the kick. If I remember correctly, they have a safety that was their emergency kicker last year that actually kicked a 35 yard field goal and a couple of kickoffs. Back before the merger, place-kickers and punters were also positional players. I’ve always thought it would be fun to go back to that.

You’re probably right. Best don’t even bother voting if you’re pulling a Trump lever.
