And they belong at sea, not suffering on a factory farm," Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-Rhode Island, a co-author of the bill, said in a statement to NPR. I hope some reporter will “follow the money” on this to see what really motivates Sen. Whitehouse on this matter. Cthulhu, I guess.

@Mik said in Not boneless: @taiwan_girl said in Not boneless: Mybe just me, but when I see something listed as "boneless" I always have assume that it meant "no bones" and not some sort of cooking style. What is a boneless cooking style anyway? It’s cooking meat with no bones in it.

@George-K said in FAFO of the day: @Horace said in FAFO of the day: More than you wanted to know about the incident Yeah, probably. tl;dw. Can you summarize? From what I gathered, he was convicted because the jury didn't find him truthful in his police interviews. I think the facts were out in the trial and were not disputed. Some minor dispute about whether he punched one of the ladies, but the stabbings and what led up to them were clear. Those facts were what convicted him. He could have retreated easily, rather than going on a knife rampage.

@Mik you misspelled "Week" [image: 1721995102981-screenshot-2024-07-26-at-6.58.09-am.png] Still up 13% for the year, however.

I feel weird just thinking about it. :man-shrugging It beats the alternative One alternative is "being alive and having a pulse."

I mean, this election is to save democracy! If somebody is defending and promoting Trump, then they are an enemy of democracy!

I was surprised to hear him brag about "putting a black woman on the supreme court". I don't really think this blatant DEI stuff plays as pure virtue to the electorate.

@Mik said in Trump admin to be tougher on corporations?: Good ideas are good ideas, and monolithic industries are generally not very good for innovation. Banks, for instance. Economies of scale do not always serve the public's best interests. Correct. It chokes competition, innovation and often leads to poor customer service.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/25/gateway-pundit-bankruptcy-filing A bankruptcy judge dismissed a bankruptcy case filed by the Gateway Pundit on Wednesday, saying the far-right outlet did not file the case in good faith. “TGP remains both balance sheet and cash flow solvent. There is no present financial distress, no looming foreclosure sale, no prospect of a market crash. There is only the State Court Litigation in which TGP must defend itself. That’s not a basis for bankruptcy relief; it’s the justice system in operation,” Mora wrote.
