So that Russell Wilson isn’t too bad of a QB…

I gave the Steelers a lot of crap when they got him. I mean, the fact that Denver was paying him to go away after Seattle paid him to go away seemed pretty damning. Plus there was all the ex teammates talking about how they disliked him. After he arrived, though, you started to see that a lot of the reason why some teammates didn’t like him. The guy wasn’t a “brother”, he actually reminds me of the Carlton character from Fresh Prince. He’s kind of an always happy, friendly, positive, and a little bit of a goober. In a good way.

As for being paid to leave Denver after they gave up a crapload of draft picks, I don’t get it. The guy is balling out, and our team looks like a professional offense for the first time. I guess there was some type of personal conflict with Payton and he also doesn’t fit the system. But like I said, he’s been lights out since he got here.

So give me a double serving of that crow humble pie.

      Two things:

      1. You're right, he doesn't fit Payton's system, which is a modified West Coast. Right now, the Broncos are 5-3 and while Nix is not playing lights out, he's doing what Payton wants him to do. And he's going to be much better next year.

      2. Payton demands a certain type of locker room. Wilson had gotten out of control in Denver and even after Payton thumped him, the culture had to be changed. I think Pittsburgh's offense fits Wilson better and I think Payton moving on from him, may have remotivated him to refocus on football.
