So far, rank choice voting is one of those ideas that sound good on paper and suck in the real world.

Word is that Alaska will be chucking theirs pretty soon...

Does that mean conservatives need to have larger families?

If you're smart enough to finish medical school, a residency, become a cardiology fellow, you should be smart enough to never say that, or at least get a different account.

I don't think I've ever posted anything political on FB.

I've found that young people (40 and under) can be incredibly stupid about texts and social media postings. Perhaps it's because they grew up with the internet. Perhaps it's because they are socially retarded. Perhaps it's because they have extended adolescence.

@taiwan_girl one of the comments she made is that she thinks Harris is suffering from "Imposter syndrome." I'm not sure Dhillon's description matches the "official" description. She describes it as a sort of "Peter Principle" type of thing: You've risen fast and high, and now you're confronted with the reality of it and don't know what to do. Hence the word-salads, etc that were not apparent in her early career.

She was obviously nervous in the debate, at least at the start.

@LuFins-Dad so you're telling me that the million dollars she paid Oprah wasn't worth it?

No wonder Beyonce didn't sing - Harris couldn't afford it.

Remember the guy who got a Nobel for finding H. Pylori tested it by ingesting the bacteria.

The first cardiac cath was done by a guy who put a urinary catheter (stent) into his own vein and injected dye to watch. He got a Nobel as well.

No we’re not always polite. We can be quite mean spirited bastards when it suits us. Occasionally and deservedly even “bitter assholes” towards some.

That's why I love admire you.

When G2 was born, D4 wanted to have his middle name reflect both grandads.

His other grandfather's name is "Dan."

So, they named him "Jordan." Get it? George and Dan.

I suggested reversing the name - "Dan-Jor." She declined.

    https://apnews.com/article/new-york-migrant-bus-lawsuit-texas-1c8e515f9c57d50dbbd66606f995ec24

New York City can’t use an unconstitutional, two-century-old “anti-pauper” law to block the state of Texas from offering migrants free bus rides to the city from the southern border, a state judge has ruled.

The court on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit brought by Mayor Eric Adams in January against charter bus companies contracted by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. It sought to bar them from knowingly dropping off “needy persons,” citing an 1817 state law that criminalized bringing an indigent person into the state “for the purpose of making him a public charge.”

Justice Mary Rosado said in a sternly worded decision that the law is unconstitutional for several reasons.

For one, she wrote, states are not permitted to regulate the interstate transportation of people based on their economic status.

The statute also “violates a fundamental right — the right to travel,” she added.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) is projected to beat Republican Kari Lake in a consequential race for Arizona Senate, dealing the former local news anchor her second straight electoral loss, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Gallego, who has served in the House for nearly a decade representing a Phoenix-based House seat, will succeed outgoing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.). Sinema opted against reelection after changing her political affiliation from Democrat to Independent last year, as Sinema faced steep odds in getting reelected.

Somebody on here, maybe even you, talked about a similar type of thing with people. Something like "Streisand Effect" but I know it is not that.

We will see. President Trump does not seem to tolerate people who disagree with him.

Pompeo was just rejected from the cabinet. He is known to be a world class Trump boot licker. Trump may not be exactly who you thought he was.

I hope you are right, but one data point does not prove a theory.

I dont think his campaign was a whole lot different from the first two. So, I am not sure the way he will pick personnel will be different.
