@Copper said in Difficulties: tldw I assume the problem is gravity, just make fake gravity. If the problem is not gravity, disregard this I assume one makes gravity in space by applying thrust to create centrifugal motion at the rim.

Would love to have been in his shoes 35 years ago. Not so much today. The single doc practice is barely on life support. This virus may kill it.

@Doctor-Phibes said in Rethinking city life?: If you can't see your neighbors' houses, how do you watch them when they're in the shower? That's what a telescope is for.

And they wonder why states are having difficulty. They will muddle through with major delays, but there is no way anyone is going to stand up a system that could handle this

@LuFins-Dad said in We overreacted!: @Jolly said in We overreacted!: @Doctor-Phibes said in We overreacted!: It seems to me that where people can work from home, they should. And a lot of people can do, with a few adjustments, at least partially. Healthcare is hands-on. Telemedicine is good for getting prescriptions refilled. Not so much for some other things. I was fine with reading the temperature, pulse rate, weight, and BP to my doctor on the TelePhysical. The prostate exam however... Just find a competent prostitute. Common procedure for a jon that's too slow.

With or without COVID-19, it’s simply not a good idea to rely on mainland-Chinese equipment in the telecommunications infrastructure. It’s too hard to trust the mainland-Chinese equipment vendors not to simply do whatever the mainland-Chinese government tells them to.

Bad optics perhaps, but he can fix it easily enough, as Jon suggested. This was set up before the pandemic.
