The Soviets always thought they could survive a nuclear exchange. Don't know what the Chinese think....

Well, if you just look at population numbers, mainland China would have a greater number of survivors.

Horrible to think, but if 99% of the people are die, 1% of 1.5 billion is more than 1% of 300 million in the US.

Maybe they would have to bring back Chairman Mao's backyard steel furnaces used during the Great Leap Forward.

Do you want to know a secret? No. It's a secret, dummy. You don't tell anyone.

Why don't we do it in the road? Does the word handcuffs give you a clue?

The face that she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for? All the lonely people, of course.

Given what we know about COVID-19 today, that seems logical.

I visited a city hall just recently and even the city hall is “all masks, all the time.”

Nah. His own teammates ripped him for the kneeling comment and he apologised profusely.

(Mostly because this is probably his last shot at the Big Game, and he needs his supporting cast. Badly.)

This seems like something we obviously need, but it can’t just be a get-out-of-responsibility free card. It needs to be contingent on certain defined protocols being followed.

I’m not surprised, I think the ACLU even formally replaced its old mission.

They need to update their website.

    https://www.aclu.org/other/freedom-expression-aclu-position-paper

The word "peace" or its variants ("peaceful," "peaceably") etc., appear three times on that site. Two of them are referencing things that happened over 60 years ago.

None of them address what's happening now.

I guess that qualifier from the First Amendment isn't all that important to the ACLU.

    :::

I first noticed that primes above 50 appear an even number of times, and at least the higher primes below 50 appeared an odd number of times. Therefore I figured it had to be 48, 50, or 52. I then figured of the three 50 was the most likely answer and confirmed it with code.

Then I thought there must be an easier way.

So if you think of this as 100*(99!)^2 * 98*(97!)^2... 2*(1!)^2 you can reduce it to
    (some huge perfect square) * 100 * 98 * 96... * 2

Then you pull out a 2 from each factor and get 2^50*(50!). So yeah, exclude the 50! and you have a perfect square.

I'd sentence that sucker to twenty years.

Working on that church. Wake up in prison, go to work, come back. Six days a week. Sundays, you wake up in prison and you go to church to pray for forgiveness.

The statues are pretty funny and well done. Can’t imagine the blackface uproar if they were done during the Obama years, though.
