I was never a big fan of The Supremes, obviously putting me in the minority. But, RIP, Ms. Wilson. You were a groundbreaker.

@horace said in Winston: To what extent did Brady create his own dream team? And how did it all fit under the salary cap? Brady demanded Gronk, Brown and Fournette. The Bucs were not a great team in the first half of the season, but got much better, especially the defense. Ariens also backed off of the No-risk-it, no-biscuit offense and added some pass routes that Tom used in New England. Specifically, deep crossing routes and some different check down routes. I don't know how it fit under the cap, especially long term. Even as well as Tampa played in latter part of the season, the Saints were ahead of them in the playoff game by a touchdown in the third quarter and driving, when Cook fumbled a ball he was packing like a loaf of bread.

Even if he did owe the 750k he could zero it out in bankruptcy and have good credit again in no time. Also, I doubt any broker is extending that much credit to people with small accounts. It's very likely the account can't pay, but the broker has to cover the loss.

Plus he’s Ft Worth, one of the few Republican cities left in TX. So what's the other vacant seat? I see, there are two seats in LA unfilled. Letlow and Richmond. It will likely put the final tally up one for both. Letlow's district is hugely Republican. Richmond represents New Orleans, typically very Democrat. OTOH, Drew Brees is a Republican...Just sayin'...

A true statesman in every way. Moreover, an example of a respected and genuine conservative. A man of immense integrity. Not at all like the ersatz conservatives we see today throughout the world.

In a stunning coincidence, Smartmatic filed suit against Fox along with Bartilomo, Dobbs, and Pirro the day before they canceled Dobbs' show. https://reason.com/2021/02/08/a-2-7-billion-defamation-lawsuit-says-fox-hosts-recklessly-implicated-smartmatic-in-a-conspiracy-to-steal-the-election/

Certainly a dick move, indicative of a relatively shameless person, but understandable from the perspective of someone who wants their little video broadcast to far, shadowy corners of the internet such as TNCR.

@taiwan_girl said in I'll be here all week, try the fish...: There is always people on the left side telling scary stories about what the “other side” will do. Same in the right side. Some people on Far left - Guns need to be completely banned. They are the cause of ALL of society problems. Doesn’t matter if you are police, a hunter, etc. If all guns were banned, society would live in peace and harmony and we would dance with unicorns down the street Some people in far right - President Biden and ALL Democrats want to take away your guns. President Biden is personally going to drive down the street with a giant “gun magnet” which will suck guns away from people. Actually, Biden would love to take away all guns. Then, the Left has no credible opposition.

@mik Yeah. No Congressmen worth their salt would go for more than a weekend post election without submitting proposed legislation that they know has zero chance of getting out of committee. But boy, does it snazz up the newsletter!

@axtremus said in NPR: The Public Broadcasting Act of 1967 does not require the NPR to cover all major political view points. Individual members stations can certainly tell the NPR what sort of programming they want or don’t want. But that’s up to those individual member stations, not the federal government. See thread starter.
