@loki THey're not ending pre-trial detention in all cases though. It would just be more severe, like denial of bail today. (I presume)

    Yes, interesting.

Oddly enough, currently the Vikings (well, one of them) rule the chess world once again, if not much else.

I've been looking forward to seeing some retrospective reviews of the administration. That's a good one.

Exposure. Hard to be exposed when you do not leave your basement.

Shows Biden being careful and responsible with good strategic acumen. Not leaving your basement was the smart strategy in the midst of a pandemic.

Yes, the results speak for themselves.

@loki said in UK to make millions of HK residents eligible for visas:

The UK imperative is easy to understand, and probably was contemplated in the original deal - if and when China took over.

It was. I believe that when the China handover in 1997, the residents at that time were offered to either take a UK passport, or the special HK passport. Most took the special HK passport, as they had "roots" there and did not want to give that up.

Not only will it have windows, you may even be able to rearrange all the windows with a simple gesture.

I can't believe Melania didn't take her chance to speak out on the departure podium and repeat her tweet that the Capitol rioters are patriots

You are definitely a low-life, classless piece of shit, aren't you?

A masking challenge? How fun! People will do anything when it’s a challenge! Ice Buckets, Tide Pods, Spoonfuls of Cinnamon, and wearing masks!

How about a 100 Day Colorblind Challenge! No referencing somebody’s race for political gain for 100 Days? Or the corruption challenge! No Biden accepts payment to work in industries that they have no experience or qualifications for? It’s fun! CNN can run a little countdown on their scroll!

WHO? Seriously? After the crap they pulled last year? After it became obvious how corrupt that group is? Makes perfect sense...

Does this extend for ANY reason or just failure to pay? If somebody’s trashing the joint is the landlord no longer able to evict? Are the landlords being taken care of in the meantime if a tenant isn’t paying? When the moratorium ends do we expect that the tenant will be able to suddenly pay the 18 months of back rent they couldn’t pay before? Hell, 18 months of rent would make a pretty decent down payment. If someone had more brains than honor they could really abuse this. Landlords are screwed no matter what.

Do you realize we’ve made more climate progress without the accord than we did in it?Doesn’t matter, though. There’s a lot of money passing hands in the accord...

8&9 Oh no! He’s failing the Colorblind Challenge already!

    It's all about the benjamins.

So who here disagrees that the Capitol raid played to the American left and to Putin?

Certainly it played to the left in the headlines, obviously.

In our pocketbooks? Yes, it will be used as an excuse to spend money, the current security presence around DC for example.

At the ballot box? Maybe, maybe not. At the moment the blame goes 100% to one man who might not be on any more ballots.

@loki No, he's given his own staff flexibility to go work as lobbyists. No order Biden gives will reverse that.

    OK I see that now.

Now for some semi snark... they won’t get jobs in this country as we are so happy to cancel them all so they will have the opportunity to work abroad.

But I agree, as accurate accounts come from people with time in the President Trump whitehouse, it is unlikely that many (if any) will write him in a positive way.

    Says who?
