Finishing up season 4 of The Shield.

    Truly remarkable.

In the dictionary, under "edgy" you'll find "The Shield."

    Finished it this afternoon.

If you haven't watched it, get a HULU subscription and immerse yourself in the anti-hero world that is Vic Mackey.

Considering that this show finished up 12 years ago, it's still timely, edgy, and engaging. It hasn't aged at all.

There are so many great characters, with interlocking stories that weave a greater narrative.

It also has one of the best endings to a series - right up there with "Six Feet Under."

    Seriously, watch this.

@Axtremus said in The Truth About Vinyl - Vinyl vs. Digital:

He skipped over magnetic tape and compact disk. CD is digitized, so one can argue that music recorded on CD is not that different from downloaded or streamed digital music. But cassette tape recording is analog, and I would be surprised if analog magnetic recording of music does not have idiosyncrasies of its own that rival vinyl’s.

Good point, and I was thinking about that. It certainly is analog, and there was a great interest in improving the quality of tape recording/playback in the day. Factors which were considered included the width of the tape, the number of tracks in a given width, and, of course, the speed of the tape moving over the head.

In 1972 (?) I bought an Akai reel-to-reel deck that was capable of moving ¼" wide tape over the heads at 7 ½ inches per second. I realized that, for my ears, I could hear no difference in 7 ips vs 3 ¾ ips, so that's what I used.

It was an Akai GX 330D:

Cars usually charge overnight, off peak.

Unless you really need to charge on during peak consumption.

    It’s not that specific.

I remembered the German girl playing Op 106, and YouTube would auto start her playing firebird after. (I watched the 106 video a lot)

But I couldn’t remember her name. So I found the thread where I posted about her and was surprised to see you had followed up with her firebird video.

Faithful to the score in every detail.

Indeed, except at the last few measures of the 2nd movement, where I think he slowed down just a bit.

But yes, it's wonderful, and very "Beethoven." The recording I posted (mostly out of curiosity) just struck me as being, well, odd. I listened to some of his other interpretations of the sonatas (Op 28, 26, 11) and he does the same crap with them as well.

Are there no consumer protection laws for that?

I saw a comment from a Northeastern parent on twitter saying parents and kids each had to sign a document acknowledging special Covid rules and the consequences for violating them. That probably prevents any action other than an appeal within the University.

They are arguing they got it in on time and the system had been down for several hours. Let’s start with those two discoverable facts and see where they land.

Barr said the other day, they have monitored several of the leaders flying from city to city. When you are organizing riots across state lines, I think you have become a Federal case, and subject to all Federal laws.

Eight people were arrested Friday night when a group of 150 Black Lives Matter protesters smashed windows and graffitied the storefronts of Lower Manhattan chain stores and banks, police sources said.

One of the arrested protesters was from Portland, Ore., and another was from Iowa, the sources said.

Don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force

So the Left says it's ok to kill children, and now it's ok to fuck them......

Anyone who has sex with a minor should be shot dead. I disagree that it's a "good idea" to leave it up to a judge whether or not to put them on a sex offender registry. They should not only be put on the registry, they should be permanently branded with a branding iron so everyone will know he's on the registry.

This is another example of how Leftwing thinking gradually rots society. At the same time this is happening there is a movement to have pedophilia recognized as a normal sexual preference. Do that, then take them off the registry, then next it will be decrminalized altogether.

Just shoot the bastards. Shoot the bastards who came up with this shit idea too, for that matter. Hell, just shoot Leftwingers.
