I lived in Tucson for 10 years. May is the month where it starts to get hot, 100 degree temps start. You go from air conditioned car to air conditioned anywhere. You don't force little kids to walk miles in that kind of oppressive heat, especially this time of year. And then, the desert comes alive at sundown and sunrise. It is hardcore desert.
