Yeah, the grill pan was a little disappointing in performance. I am sure I will find a use for it, but I’d rather sacrifice a veggie or two to the grill gods than sacrifice how well they taste cooking directly over the coals….

@lufins-dad said in Bicycle Planning: Education and enforcement… https://www.virginiadot.org/programs/bikeped/laws_and_safety_tips.asp Here it is for Virginia, clearly laid out. Bicyclists in my region tend to ignore 2/3 of those rules. If (just saying if here) you're the kind of person who'd get pissed off at a cyclist going 18 in a 35 because they're following all the rules of the road, stop getting pissed off when they break the rules.

Looked at him, and asked “And you passed DE Physics last year?!” The look he gave me made my night. The old man isn't so dumb, after all. Is he, LOL. Book learning vs. practical learning…

We seem to have the luxury to take our democratic experiment as axiomatic. Imagine not developing patriotism when we have to ask our next set of young people to give their lives to protect our freedom. There are sheep, wolves and sheep herders. The sheep are getting particularly unruly and we can’t let the wolves eat them.

@doctor-phibes said in Happy birthday Aqua!: @aqua-letifer said in Happy birthday Aqua!: @doctor-phibes said in Happy birthday Aqua!: @aqua-letifer said in Happy birthday Aqua!: Gatorskin tires I just bought some of those after getting sick of punctures. I did something wrong, as the inner tube blew the tyre clean off the rim. It made a hell of a noise, but seems undamaged - which is more than I can say for the inner tube. Maybe the rim pinched it? You really gotta push the tube into the tire to make sure the rim doesn't pinch it once you seat the tire. Mine aren't at all flexible in that area so I really gotta shove it in there. The sad part was there was a 2 minute delay after I pumped the tyre up before the loud bang occurred - just enough time for me to say to Mrs. Phibes ,'See, I told you wasn't completely useless at this stuff....' I cannot count the number of times I have completely, utterly, thoroughly lost my shit on the side of a road due to a problem that I didn't know how to solve at the time, but now I consider no big deal because it's happened so often by now.
