Haven't Russia been vaccinating people for a week now? Calling it Sputnik?
Anyway the UK is vaccinating today, starting with the over 80's and front line NHS staff first.
This is undoubtedly the best way to approach the roll out as 99% of deaths here have been of people over 50 (or with medical complications) and the older you are the more at risk you are.

The daily UK death toll is about 200 a day now, with continuing lockdown measures working as expected.
And more good news, the Oxford/Astra vaccine has been peer-reviewed as safe in The Lancet.
