I despise email. It's all but ruined my job over the last 20 years or so. We used to communicate by telephone (primarily) and where writing was needed, by letter or fax. Writing a fax took actual effort, so you didn't end up with gazillions of them every day, and you weren't expected to reply within 10 minutes. One of the good things about the pandemic for me has been the push towards video calls rather than those awful extended email correspondences. The problem is they don't really work when lots of people are involved, but then again, not much does.

@larry said in Natural Immunity Antibodies vs Vaccine Induced Antibodies: @doctor-phibes said in Natural Immunity Antibodies vs Vaccine Induced Antibodies: @larry said in Natural Immunity Antibodies vs Vaccine Induced Antibodies: One of these days you'll be driving down the road and your car will stop running. A voice will come from your dash saying you have driven your allotted miles for the month. It won't matter much though, because you ant qualify to work, and you lack the proper credentials to buy food. I'm pretty sure my job is secure. I do the voice-overs in all the new electric vehicles. They tell me they do so love a sophisticated British accent, and apparently they can't tell the difference between one and what I have. I should have pointed out that what I described will be noticed mostly by those who haven't submitted to their overlords. For those who go through life with their heads in the sand it will happen so slowly they wont even notice a change. They'll think everything is just fine, and probably even think other silly things like (bahaha...)British accents (snort) sound (..,,bwahaha....) "sophisticated"...... (BAHAHA.....) And to think some people say that Americans struggle to understand irony....

@axtremus said in McConnell did the right thing.: Not right enough. The truly right thing to do is to eliminate the "debt ceiling" entirely. The truly right thing to do would be to reduce spending to the point they didn't reach the ceiling in the first place.

The FAA made it clear that the airline was lying as soon as this happened. You can give the airline some credit for lying in a way that they could kinda defend. They said the airplanes and employees were in the wrong places. Which from their viewpoint was probably true.

@doctor-phibes said in Hay Bachophile!: @mik said in Hay Bachophile!: The years have not been kind to him it. That's very unfair. After all, he didn't look that great when he was young. Did I say WHICH years? Hmmm? No I didn't, now did I.

@jolly said in The General: @renauda said in The General: Why not General Jacob Devers? His abilities as a general and innovative military leader are all but forgotten. Unjustly partly because his relationship with Ike was not always cordial. As a general though, the Germans took him very seriously. Is there enough drama there to make a good movie? There was plenty of drama between him and Ike not to mention Mark Clark. Devers was no slouch as a tactician and could be every bit as diplomatic as Ike when it came to dealing with personalities and egos. I reckon a good screenplay and director could make it a first class movie.

@larry said in Tesla Moves HQ to Texas: Which ones? Just Google 'highest crime rate by state', 'GDP per capita by state', 'Poverty rate by state'. As I already said, I don't think the reasons are mainly political, or at least not down to party politics.
