I think he’s referring to the “State of the State” address that’s coming up, like the “State of the Union” that the president does.

But “sot” is a word for drunkard. More commonly used in the old country.

I have not had or seen much luck with HP laptops. Dells and Lenovos I have had excellent luck with. Anecdotal I know, but still.

I used to watch a lot of Johnny Carson

I don't think I've watched the show more than a few times since he left.

Paying for an ambulance. How quaint.

What do you do with a patient who calls an ambulance for a head cold?

Yes obviously if it’s a spurious call u can be fined. But honestly doesn’t happen much.

CNN is horrible. They deserve to go out of business.

Why anybody watches that shit is beyond me. I guess there's two groups - liberals seeking confirmation bias, and conservatives seeking bias confirmation.

This is why I can't stomach NewsMax. It's just propaganda.

    That goes without saying, too.

President Trump recommends OANN, so I'm guessing they must be very high quality. I don't really have time to watch them as I spend the whole day comparing and contrasting Fox and CNN.

On a related note, I'm sure y'all be glad to know all my hair came back. I think it was stress. A HELOC to pay off some usurious student loan rates and some cortisone shots skillfully placed did the trick.

@taiwan_girl that’s a good question. An assault on federal buildings is a “bigger” crime than breaking into a convenience store.

So, lets keep the comparison equal: WHat about storming a federal courthouse and throwing Molotov cocktails in an attempt to burn it down?

Dont know if it is right or wrong, but they are still not equal in the eye of most people or in the investigation and pursuit of it or in the news it will give off. Even if they are on the same federal level, some crimes are more "equal" than others. Just the way it is.

President Trump gets a pickpocket and loses his wallet.
Congressman Doe also gets a pickpocket and loses his wallet.

Both are federal employees. Both crimes are basically the same.

Which crime will make more news and which will be investigated more?

(Kind of reminds me of that story you posted about the robbers who broke into the gangsters house. A "ordinary" house robbery, but LOL, looked what happened to the robbers)

I agree they are not equal but tolerating one could very reasonably seen as inciting others.

More people are currently dying of Covid than at any time during the pandemic. I see no reason to be cheerful apart from the hope that we'll be vaccinated.

You've been telling us not to worry for nearly a year. It hasn't worked very well, to be honest.

Actually I said from day one that the old and vulnerable must be protected and given the average age of Covid deaths that never changed I was not off base.

@jolly said in Twitter condemns internet shutdowns.:

    I hope they go under.

And wouldn't it be a hoot if a lot of the Left went to Parler?

If Parler became popular, it would go down a similar path.

Almost every popular internet forum started with the principle of minimal moderation.

Parler had to recently moderate Lin Wood's "Execute Pence" posts.

You gotta moderate out the child porn guys.

Moderation needs scale with a platform.

We just don't have good, clear consistent ways to think about this yet.

I like minimally and consistently moderated platforms, but what that means changes as a platform scales up.

If the FBI knew, would the President or at least some of his minions have been told. Why no action?

    You're not thinking like a conspiritualist .

They did know. They knew everything.

And there was plenty of action.

They quietly locked up the leaders before the Trump speech began.

Then the FBI asked Mr. Trump to encourage the rest to march on the Capitol so they could identify the remaining threats.

The heroic Trump, forsaking his own reputation, incited the mob to ensure the FBI's success. He will take this information to his grave in order to continue to safeguard the nation.

That's so interesting, it's the only time the only person has ever put into words exactly what I think.

The assault on the Capitol must be quite the setback for the NRA in terms of public opinion.

    Was the NRA involved?

    No.

    Neither was anyone even armed.
