@lufins-dad said in Unvaccinated in Singapore Must Pay for COVID treatment - No Insurance: Is the insurance through the state? Or is it private companies? Singapore has a national health plan. At this time, there are no indications that private insurance (some people carry private insurance to supplement national insurance) will not cover COVID for the unvaccinated, but who knows if they will follow what the government did.

@jon-nyc said in Tax Breaks for the Wealthy?: I’ll take it thank you very much. Me too. But, that was then, and the hypocrisy of both political parties wasn't as obvious as now.

https://newjerseyglobe.com/legislature/sweeney-to-concede-loss-senate-president-election-set-for-friday/ Senate President Steve Sweeney is set to concede his re-election defeat on Wednesday and Democrats have scheduled an election this Friday to choose his successor, the New Jersey Globe has learned. Nicholas Scutari, the current Senate Judiciary chairman, has a lock on the position, a New Jersey Globe tally shows, but still must face a vote. State Sen. Nia Gill is challenging him in a bid to become the first woman and first person of color to serve as Senate President. Senate Majority Leader Teresa Ruiz is set to become the state’s first Latina majority leader, although a Star-Ledger editorial is trying to push her into the Senate President race. Republican Edward Durr ousted Sweeney, a senator for the last 20 years and the longest-serving legislative leader in New Jersey history, in last week’s election. He now has a 2,212-vote lead over Sweeney in the 3rd legislative district. Sweeney had scheduled an announcement for today – which was expected to be a concession – but that event never occurred.

I was a member for about 5 years. Our group joined because health insurance through the AMA was cheaper than we could find elsewhere. We left about 10 years ago. I still get an "invoice" for membership dues (about $1400, irrc) about three times a year, even though I've not been a member for at least 10 years.

@george-k said in Cheap Windows: @klaus said in Cheap Windows: Why would anyone use such a laptop instead of an Android- or iOS-based tablet with keyboard? A followup to that question is why would anyone use a Chromebook? The cheapest iPad is $329, and a keyboard case will run another $80 or so. Perhaps that's the reason? I've never quite understood the reason for Chrome OS as an OS different from Android.
