    How about those Dawgs?

After the first quarter, it was over. The Steelers peaked too early this year.

I use it all the time. Chicken, beef, even mushroom.

I use another kind of bullion for curtain and footstool trims.
    So much good bullion!

    Have a nice evening.

No actually I'm serious. If we can agree that generalizing is causing serious problems, then okay, we disagree about a lot of other stuff but that would be a starting point.

But if you want to defend only your side with a heterogeneous defense and believe all leftist protesters are the same, then we can't even agree on basic facts.

An already vaccinated nurse would do great with (presumably) minimal risk.

Except for, you know, the impossibly high emotional, physical and mental stress. Which would be constant.

In times like this you really want to incite people?

It demonstrates such little reflection and the need to be vindictive.

At one point republicans were circumspect and ready to dispense with Trump in every way but democrats seem determined to undo that. It’s as if they don’t want a chance for peace, healing and a natural end to Trump.

    Grandstanding.

    Again...

Yep. Goofy on her part. 🙄

They should build their own app.

A smartphone app is unnecessary. NodeBB/TNCR does just fine without one.

They should build their own app store.

An app store is also not necessary when the smartphone app is unnecessary.

They should build their own web-hosting platform.

Yes, they are not entitled to use someone else’s web hosting platform, no one owes them a web hosting platform.

They should build their own internet.

No, that’s why I defend “net neutrality”, so everyone get to use the Internet equitably.

They should build their own country.

Interesting thought. If you don’t mind the time and effort, kindly elaborate why you think they should build their own country.

Samizdat is difficult when you can't even buy the paper, let alone the printing press.

Yes, good thing nobody refused to sell them paper or printing press (or physical server hardware). Actually it might be interesting to think through whether “equitable access to blank paper” should be guaranteed as a corollary to the First Amendment; maybe that is analogous to “net neutrality.”

@axtremus I'm aware that hardware makers customize Android, but AFAIK they customize the version with all the Google stuff on it. That is, they add extra stuff to the Google stuff. But they don't usually remove things. Are Google apps and services merely blocked on Chinese phones or are they not even installed on the devices?

A clue? Definitely need a full investigation.

Read the “to be clear” part from the DC mayor. Why this hasn’t really made the news of late is a good question.

One interesting thing is that, in our condo, we have individual A/C compressors on the roof for each unit (22 in the building). If I set the thermostat to keep the temp at 68 at night, and it gets warmer because of whatever, the last thing I need is for the A/C to kick in in the middle of January.

I reached out to tech support this Sunday afternoon, and they were very helpful with an obscure setting that disables the A/C if the outside temperature is less than a minimum you set.

    So far, pleased.

Of course, our condo, with neighbors on two sides, and heated spaces above and below, tends to stay warm during the winter, and we have a fireplace as well for heat/ambiance. Summer will be the time when it'll be cooling.

@axtremus thanks! And no...no piano to move. Will either buy a new one there or maybe look at moving a Baldwin grand (6’?) from the DC area that has been in the family since the 1920s although it needs a ton of restoration.

Yeah. That train already left the station.

@jon-nyc said in ICYMI two years ago - Charges against rioters...er, protestors dropped:

That’s true, but then I’ve never shed crocodile tears about any death outside my immediate family.

Surely you must know that the tu quoque charge is going to fall flat on me. I was critical of the Floyd riots and at least as critical of the ‘racist cops’ narrative behind them as anyone here.

Lots of narratives are falling flat these days. Must be the power of the internet.

@jon-nyc Last year I read Stephen Walsh’s Debussy “A Painter in Sound” biography. I liked it. Probably has everything you will want to know about Debussy. My admiration for this innovator (especially in piano writing) grew after reading this book.

When do the comparisons start as to how the BLM protesters are treated by the legal system when they break the law?

When do we see how the cops let the protesters loot and pillage all the retail establishments.

I don’t think my mind is playing tricks on me when I say the article has a narrow point of view.

It starts with a thesis and only presents info to support it.

This is not an analysis but a stump speech.
