I can buy this - but, still a horrible sequence of steps on the execution.

    I hate RMD's.
Worth it to back-door a Roth?

Not a bad thought, though I'd pay a ton of taxes doing that. At my age, would I recoup that payout by converting to Roth? My guy at Fidelity said I would not.

    Then how about a QLAC?

Coming from the UK, my only real knowledge of Ben Stein was regarding his willingness to give strangers his money and his seemingly tireless promotion of eye drops, presumably in order to get the money back.

Well, the software is presumably not written in China. It's not impossible, but it would be much harder to fiddle with the hardware without Apple knowing about it.

Yes a lack of self awareness is associated with left leaning personalities.

So, you're acknowledging that the right wing press lie like a complete bunch of bastards, they're just more aware of the fact that they're doing it?

Sure, awareness of one’s own lies and manipulation in media messaging is probably more prevalent on the right. I’ve heard a long form interview with Brian Stelter and if nothing else, that guy is a True Believer. The guy interviewing him was Ezra Klein of all people, and even Klein hit a brick wall trying to pry any awareness out of Stelter that maybe CNN has an overt political bias.

    Gotta love those lower taxes!

Not really bothered, TBH. What I've seen since I got here was debt, debt, and more debt. It doesn't seem to make much difference who's in charge, they have no concept of living within their means. Not being an American citizen means that I can choose to walk away from the debt at an appropriate point in my life if I wish, and inherit a slightly lower one somewhere else.

I don't know, but where I live it sure looks like the current wave is a pandemic of the unvaccinated:

    Looking back...

I remember back in 1980, anything much under 700 grams, we let die in the corner. We simply did not have the technology available in our part of the world to save them.

@George-K there is a podcast called "Blockbuster" you might like. It's created by a film score enthusiast but does a pretty good job at "acting" (via audio, obviously) the story of various subjects. Season 1 was all about Lucas, Spielberg, Star Wars, etc... I found it entertaining to listen to:

He's had supervised release for a number of years I believe. Or maybe that's Mark Chapman.

Yeah that was Hinckley. He is/was in a Maryland hospital for many years, but would visit his mom in Williamsburg, VA (I think?) often each year.
