@kluurs said in World's Greatest Letter Carrier...: Her name was Kathy. Kathy looked to be in her early 50s. She had thick blonde hair in a pony tail. She looked fit and jogged/ran between houses - taking stairs at a fast pace. She did this every day. While I might have run 60 miles in a week, I don't know that I was as in good a shape as Kathy. And then, she retired. I wish I knew what her plans were. We got a new letter carrier this year. She was an older woman. We got a note from her that she's retiring this year. We must have a desired route if people with the most seniority are requesting it. Our latest carrier didn't sprint from house to house. She was slower. Sometimes mail showed up at 8:00 pm - but she got things to the right place. Today's her last day. Routes are bid on by FT carriers, no part-timers are allowed to bid. In your case, it will be a city carrier, rural carriers cannot apply. And if you lived on the rural route, the reverse is true. The Postmaster will entertain bids during a certain time frame, then will review all bids and award the route. Seniority is usually the deciding factor. Any promotions due to the router are only given after the route is awarded.

The reason 90% of those cases are plead, is because the vast, vast majority of those people charged are guilty. But... That's why I've advocated a robust public defender's office. Everybody is entitled to their day in court and to a jury trial.

They lost to Cincinnati twice, Pittsburgh once, and Cleveland once. You can’t win the division with a 1-5 (after Pittsburgh beats them in the final game) record in that division…

Cats are extremely sensitive to these things. I know I spoke of when MFR had a fever for a few days Luna and Stella laid right with her for hours, which they never do.

Yeah we have one near our dining table… lots of crumbs after the kids eat. Until we get a dog, this device helps us quickly vacuum up messes. Always charged, very light, easy to empty, easy to use.
