I have a theory… Back when I was a college student, I noticed that the most screwed up people I knew of were all going to school for psychiatry and psychology. It wasn’t that there weren’t also well adjusted and normal individuals, but the number of people with issues was daunting… My theory is that at some point over the last 30 years or so, the lunatics have quietly taken over the asylum both figuratively and literally. They are now the ones that are defining what is normal and abnormal…

Knowing just a little about steam engines, the maintenance on them is horrific. But a great idea, to be sure.

It would be interesting if Brady joined Manning’s group trying to buy the Broncos…

I have to agree with Klaus, Putin is all about power. Sanctioning him personally will get the West no where. Right now, we should be listening to what the Ukrainian leaders are telling us.

Without early diagnosis can we ever really develop an effective early treatment?

George, my compliments. Your Who-Disses always are of faces that are ALMOST familiar; you kinda know, but not quite. Age often changes people til they're unrecognizable.

I assume women pay more into the system in order to take more out. Of course the weirdo hasn't done that.

@copper said in Black woman promise backfires.: Nobody is fooling anyone, but the presentation matters. Both presidents did and will pander as needed. Both Reagan and Trump promised a female in advance of their picks. Reagan, like Joe, when campaigning.

@lufins-dad said in $5,000,000,000,000: How do you get 10,000,000 deaths from a disease that has an IFR under 1% in a nation of 330 million? At most you could argue 3 million to 3.5 million. 3.5 million from COVID and 6.5 million from arguing their side to death. And we haven’t learned Jack shit about how to handle this type of pandemic scenario in the future. Everybody is 100% sure that there way is the correct way. I think we've learned a lot. Remember late March 2020 when no one would even go outside? Then April when we wiped down our groceries?

I heard the NY Times bought out the original site for like $2 million. Which is a shame, since I'm sure eventually it'll get monetized somehow. Anyway... my wife told me about the Wordle site about 3 weeks ago and I enjoy doing it each morning at 7am. Pretty good stats so far... Just 2 days ago I guessed 4 letters perfectly on the first try and somehow didn't get it until the 4th try. That was disappointing. WRONG WRING WRANG WRUNG <- Correct

Oh wow, Taylor Kitsch… I had forgotten about the poor guy… Here he was, a very popular actor that had starred in an extraordinarily well received TV Series, Friday Night Lights. He transitions over to movies and holy hell, he is going to be everywhere. He is cast to portray one of the most popular Marvel characters in a franchise that looks like it’s going to go on forever and he is starring in the movie with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, It’s a can’t miss! At the same time, he get’s the lead role in Disney’s next blockbuster series, John Carter on Mars… This is one of the most popular sci-fi fantasy stories out there, and it’s being backed by frigging Disney! They invested over $360 million! That’s over twice as much as they put into Pirates of the Caribbean! And has the potential for far more sequels. AND he got the lead in another mega-blockbuster starring with Liam frigging Neeson and is following up on the success of the Transformers franchise! I mean, if those movies could make Shia LePuff a star, imagine Taylor’s future! For one golden year, this kid was on top of the world and was looking at being the next Harrison Ford or even bigger… Today? Wow… Has any other lead actor ever bombed as badly?

I understand both sides. Lots of farmers are used to using pre-computerized tractors they could work on themselves out in a field. Now they find themselves using computer reliant machines that are beyond their ability to fix, and they forget all the amazing benefits this brings with it when they are broke down in a field and need 50,000$ worth of equipment just to find the problem. From Deere's point of view, they design machines that do amazing things but to do those things the equipment uses technology that requires specialized and very expensive equipment to work on them, in the hands of trained repairman. Want to have a tractor that uses GPS to drive the tractor and plant a field perfectly? Want to fix it yourself when it breaks? Then take the required training and make the massive investment in test equipment and specialized tools needed to do it. Or, buy a simpler tractor that can be fixed with a hammer and a wrench and do without the sheer wizardry of a modern tractor. Or, if you want the benefits of a modern tractor but don't want to spend the time and money it takes to diagnose and repair it? Then pay someone qualified and equipped to come out and repair it.
