The lack of preparation for the current situation over the last year is appalling. The government has been shit, and to be honest I think the general population has been pretty shit, too.

From my view, the US politics have always been like a pendulum. If it starts to swing too far to either the right side or the left side, the next election back towards the center.

I think that this is one of the strengths and beauty of the US political system.

I think a more accurate accounting is nearly everyone is in the middle of the bell curve. Sane, nice... would help you change your tire, or open the door for you, and probably doesn't want to talk politics or even care. But those in the media (news corporations as well as those who are covered by the news) make it seem like everyone is on the far left or far right.
