@George-K said in “Don’t pee in the pool!”: @brenda said in “Don’t pee in the pool!”: @George-K said in “Don’t pee in the pool!”: When “pool” is spelled “ocean.” Something seems familiar here ... F’ing hotel Wi-Fi didn’t let me post, and then unbeknownst to me, it went thru. You should go pee in their pool to get your revenge.

I have no problem with the ad, and I suspect his target audience in Missouri understands exactly what he is saying. Some of y'all need to get out to fly-over land.

A wise man once told me, "The devil lives in a church sound system". Maybe that goes for home sound systems, too....

I have long said that the woke and their leftist mainstream enablers are defined by a characteristically absent sense of humor. I suspect this is the opposite side of the low self awareness coin.

@Axtremus said in The Farmer (JFK quote): Not exactly. The farmers who sell at farmer's market sells at retail there. And at scale, there must be "bulk pricing" available to farmers for things like fertilizers and weed/insect control chemicals at discounts not available to retail customers at the likes of Home Depot and Loew's. It's very hard to believe that a large scale farming operation has to pay retail for basic supplies and materials. JFK lived in a time before big box stores are in vogue, before big corporate farming operations, and the quote romanticized away farmers markets. On a % of farms (maybe not on a % of acres farmed), a pretty high majority of farms in the US are family owned and operated.

Now, a lot of that has changed with regional blood banks and push me-pull you inventory. Nowadays, we flow from excess inventory to need, and combined with the longer shelf life of the newer anticoagulants, less blood is wasted. But back when we drew all of our own, we really worried about wasting it ...Although my boss had the biggest and most beautiful rose garden in town.

@Jolly said in Mark Bait: Went to George's funeral yesterday. (The guy who gave my buddy the Guild.) The wife played the music for the funeral, except for one song. They used a recording of Mr. George, where he sang on a country gospel song he had written. He also did all the instruments - the lead guitar was the Guild, along with mandolin and acoustic rhythm guitar. I'd never heard the man sing or play...God Bless him, he had talent. Nice.

Separately, in Oregon: https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/bayer-wins-fourth-roundup-weedkiller-case-us-2022-06-18/ Bayer won a separate lawsuit where an Oregonian alleged that the Roundup weed killer caused his cancer.
