Not knowing either person, but from each persons background and what appears to be their moral character, I would be on the side of believing Gen. Kelly in this matter vs. President Trump.

@Axtremus said in Unemployable?: @Jolly said in Unemployable?: I see piss-poor work ethic. Local to your school district or Louisiana state-wide? How do the native high schoolers and undergraduates compare to the immigrants when it comes to work ethic? (This assumes you can tell the immigrants apart from the natives. If you cannot, that's fine.) I can only speak to what I know. My father graduated from the local high school, I graduated from the local high school, my kids graduated from the local high school. The school is rural, but it's had a reputation (and the community) for turning out young people who would work. Country kids, with callused hands. Not just blue collar jobs. There are two dozen STEM grads in my class. My wife's class has three physicians, one dentist and two lawyers. My son's class has kids that have worked for Apple, have worked at WWL and WGN, and are running major missions programs for the SBC. In short, we knew how to work. In the last fifteen years or so, I'm not seeing that. My son worked with kids that would go to football practice, haul hay all day, then go back for evening practice. I don't see that anymore. I don't see the dominance at state literary rallies. I don't see the dominance in athletics. It may be lack of maturity. It may be that teachers are not as good as they used to be or maybe they're too restricted in subject matter and everything is geared towards standardized testing. It may just be that times have changed. I don't know...

Medical tourism is a big thing. Bangkok has been very very active in promoting this - both for non-emergency medical things (hip replacement, etc) but also for dental work. Singapore is the same way.

I am okay with self driving cars. I think the although as @mik says, a human can look at the whole picture, they are equally balanced by the number of bad stupid drivers that should be replaced by self driving cars.

If you are going to remove the symbols, then don't call it a church. Call it a Hall of Reflection" or "Hall of Meditation" or something like. If I go into a Taoist temple, and there are crosses with Jesus and things like that, I would not call it a Taoist temple anymore.

Isn't this the 3rd WWIII is imminent thread we've had in a couple of weeks? It's even scarier than Project 2025.

@Klaus said in Forklift Driver Klaus: Did anyone actually watch the video? It's hilarious. I watched the entire video and rather appreciated the humor. The "good job" comment was both to the "Klaus" character in the video as well as to you @Klaus for sharing a good video.

@89th said in Trump Lies: So, you believe the 2020 election was stolen based on unanimously rejected claims, but when there's a completely transparent and auditable trail of false or misleading claims by Trump, you don't believe it. I've said it a billion times. I'm a conservative, as you are. Imagine how you'd react if it was Obama instead of Trump and the coronavirus fumbles, election denial, January 6th, and database of false claims. I'd be reacting the same, would you? Ok, I lied. I haven't said it a billion times, maybe a few dozen. No, I believe the election was stolen based on personal experience with stolen elections. The 2020 election had multiple warning signs that screamed ballot finagling. I also think - and this is readily apparent - the kid glove treatment of Basement Biden and the Dems changing rules to facilitate massive mail-in voting (and ballot harvesting) - is also tantamount to stealing an election.

Yeah, the economy's great, isn't it? Just a few ideas... The remodel craze during COVID and the building boom have cooled. Premium vinyl plank is now available in clic-lok styles and if you can use a miter saw and work on your knees, you can lay this flooring and make it look good. It's the economy, stupid.
