@taiwan_girl said in Clinical Characteristics of Covid-19 in New York City: Interesting chart. I was reading something that in the US, non white poeple seem to get the virus more than their per cent of the population. Not sure if that is because most of the cases are in big cities, and there are more nonwhite people there? Also saw the obesity number. Somebody was speculating that is why poorer countries have not been hit as bad as expected. One reason may be less fat people there. Re minorities- More dense neighborhoods, more co-morbidity, less likely to be able to work from home, larger families. Poor countries - too early to tell how much is masked by testing.

I sent that to D2 - the psych doctor: "Irritability is a sign of withdrawal from weed. But yeah wtf are we supposed to do with the mf kids?" "I am reading my students reports all day and I could use some weed. They write like shit" "In fact it would probably make more sense if I was high while reading it."

I watch a lot of YouTube on my TV via Roku, and hardly ever get a commercial at all, which now I come to think of it is rather odd.

I've always thought Romney was an asshole. His disagreement with Trump isn't one of principle, it's more him deciding to position himself for the future. He did do a pretty good job as governor of MA, but he's still an unprincipled political flip-flopper. What we think of Trump shouldn't have any bearing on what we think of Romney.

It's true, though. We isolated several days before the state even talked about it. Seemed like common sense defense. Since we are retired, the opening up won't affect us much if at all. I still cannot catch this.

I always thought Dennehy should have done more westerns. He just seemed right for the role.

It’s why I’m skeptical the FDA will rush the vaccine too much, as opposed to an actual treatment. The vaccine will be taken by billions of healthy people. Safety is no joke. A treatment for severe cases is a different story, it’s a much smaller group, with much less to lose. We’ll see some record approvals in this space.

If anything, I'd say it was researched in a lab, not lab-made. Not from scratch, anyway.

@Loki said in How the curve is now being viewed.: @Copper said in How the curve is now being viewed.: Everyone (just about) underreacted before they overreacted. Then there was the panic. Sadly, we will never know how business as usual would have gone. But, I think, most will be absolutely positive they know exactly how business as usual would have gone. We do know that Florida and Louisiana were going to absolute disasters due to GOP leadership and suddenly they are doing great because one week of social distancing cured them. Those two states went from Prime Time to nowhere to be found overnight. Same leadership before and after.
