For taxes, I saw this chart. Have no idea how accurate it is. [image: 1730342772828-19d5165b-8c87-4b3e-9fc1-e275f3250e32-image.png]

If the Chinese will weld their own people into buildings and tell them breathe or die, I suspect they wouldn't bat an eyelash at a little economic turmoil.

@89th said in Shit show: In the US, a Supreme Court clerk makes like $50k a year. But after a year, they're often offered $400k signing bonuses and $200k+ salaries at law firms. Getting a SCOTUS clerkship is like a golden employment ticket. Prestigious job here also, but it does not convert to a private job after that. Alot of them stay for a while as a Supreme Court clerk.

@bachophile said in Today's medical mysterie.: Ugg. The guy has gas forming bacteria in his arm. If he doesn’t get debrided soon he will go into septic shock, lose his arm, and probably his life. Exactly. Even I saw it. And, as far as AI goes, there’s no fracture. Nice jog, Grok.

Agreed, enjoy the show, don't think about how it all connects. That might make it hard to enjoy, but the acting, music, and action do make it fun. Here's a much better visual about it all connects, obviously SPOILER CITY: https://i.redd.it/j2t2ib0ve6xd1.jpeg

In the early 1980s I flew PanAm between Frankfurt and Moscow a few times when the Lufthansa flight was booked solid. I recall the cabin service being perhaps a step or two above Aeroflot, but in the basement in comparison to Lufthansa. Best European airlines I flew were KLM and Finnair. The latter, when possible, was always my first choice.

I'm not sure how the federal government can pass laws dictating how the states will run their voter rolls. Have to admit I'm not very educated on how all that works together, but I suspect that is what the 6 justices' decision might be based on.

@89th said in The Kamala Krowd: I have a friend who went to the rally. From pics I'd say a good 50k people were there, maybe more maybe less, who knows. Honestly, my immediate thought was... "aren't these people getting deja vu from Hillary's final speech in 2016?" [image: 1730293710680-85b58006-5e9f-49cf-967a-979a7b064296-image.png] I see a sea of shit. So much shit - apostrophe - the porta-potties had to be overloaded with that large of a crowd.

@Horace said in Oversight Committee to DHS: Give us the Walz Files: Living a lie would not be surprising for Tim "big fat liar" Walz. Maybe the entire internet is right, when it calls him that. Again, his name is Tim "hotdish" Walz. That doesn't help, considering that's the nickname the boys locker room gave him.

@Jolly said in Now they'll know how many votes they need: If it never happened, it wouldn't be written into law. Would it? I am sure it has happened before. But I think that the amount of times it has and does happen is very very very small. In all the time you have received mail, how many times would you say that you have received a legimately mailed piece of mail without a postmark? Maybe way back when when mail was sorted by hand, it happened more often, but I think now, with scanning and sorting technology, there are more places where the mail would be rejected if a postmark was not scanned.
