It's an older video, although I guess I'm not surprised the twits are trying to imply it's an arrest of Trump. Anyway @George-K it was a staged "arrest" using a private helicopter. To your point, the man's arrested hands magically become uncuffed as he uses them to climb into the chopper.

@taiwan_girl said in $60,000 to replace battery. The battery costs more than a brand new car!:

I know it will never happen, but it would have been nice if, from the beginning, batteries compartments were somehow standardized. Kind of like a light bulb outlet or something like that.

My start up goal was to have a company that provides battery swaps for cars. You never "own" the battery, just "rent" it. Electric cars would be much cheaper to buy, since you dont initially pay for the battery. You would pull into a "battery station" when your charge was down, the discharged battery would be removed, and a fully charged battery would be inserted. Zero charge time. Just like filling up your car with gas. Maybe in a parallel universe, this is happening.

I know I've posted this before, still....

No question, the Alistair Sim one. I grew up watching it, and that's the face I see when people say 'Scrooge'

    Myself as well.

If there was any justice in the world, they'd have an Alistair Sim month on Netflix.

Or sometimes your team is so poorly coached that a defense with 4 perennial all-pros and the leading candidate for DPOY will allow a team with the 3rd and 4th string RBs run the ball 12 fucking times in a row without stopping them. Theyā€™ll also allow a wide receiver that hasnā€™t caught a ball in 2 years catch 3 for 72 and 2 TDSā€¦

    Sometimes believing isnā€™t enough.

The commenter said it it was funny how Lewis was attempting (badly) to imitate a British accent.

He does have just a touch of the Yankee twang in his normal voice, which is kind of funny. I've been told that my accent has got even more Northern English since I came over, probably as a defence mechanism.

I actually like the style of the kitchen table more vs. the dining table. But both are very nice.

Yeah, but look at the work on the dining table.

Cant read the article, but have heard of things like that.

Similar "camps" are in Cambodia and Laos.

If you get a scam test on your cell phone/WhatsApp/LINE, etc that starts off like they know you, "Hey, haven't heard from you in a while. Just wanted to check and see how things were going." When you respond saying it is the wrong number, they will apologize and start to make conversation to draw you in. Eventually, they try to somehow get money.

A common one is investing in crypto. I was able to talk to one of the scammers for a while. They were actually based in Thailand and were trying to get people to invest in a crypto "wallet". They supposedly got 20% of what the person invested. They eventually stopped talking to me, but I was curious if they were in a "camp" or something else.

While most of the left-of-center professors, administrators and students might walk off the fabled campus en masse, that might be the best thing to happen to Harvard in decades.

    Wouldn't that be wonderful!

would say that China is in much worse shape now than when President Biden was elected.

I don't think people here will disagree.

But, is it because of Biden?

Well, I suppose it depends on how much power a person believes the president has to influence US policy. LOL

You guys know my thoughts on this economically - I dont think that the president has as much influence as people say. Foreign policy, I think they do have a bit more power in this area.

But it is really just shows the politic divide.

President Trump does something good during his term
pro Trump - happened BECAUSE of him
anti Trump - happened DESPITE him

President Biden does something good during his term
pro Biden - happened BECAUSE of him
anti Biden - happened DESPITE him

I think it is good that we have these (mainly LOL) civil politic debate here on this forum. One of the reasons I like it so much. But, we all show are biases here also.

During President Trump's term, the unemployment rate could have dropped to 0%, inflation to 0%, salaries increased 10% per year, and some people would have still complained.
