Pretty much everything has gone that way, from jobs to parenting to law enforcement. There's the letter of the law or rule, and that's it. No room for exercising judgement.
We're building our own Babel.

Gives a whole new meaning to Afternoon Delight.
I like scones as much as the next man, but I prefer the original meaning.

I loved reading your post, Aqua.
Thanks, Larry. Anytime I'm told poetry's for pansies, I bring out my book of war poetry. I learned a hell of a lot more from those guys than any academic.
Future? I lived near there, I've seen plenty of people peeing in their alcove.
And it's so weird - looking at the sign for NEMA there. I remember the 1BD apartments in that building being $5K/month.

People need to ask some hard questions...
Why aren't we building or expanding refineries?
Why do we have more stringent requirements for diesel passenger vehicles than Europe?
Why are we not selling drilling leases?
Why was the Keystone Pipeline shut down?
For the Greenies:
Why aren't we building nuclear plants?
Why haven't we taken a harder look at slow-turbine hydro plants?
Why won't you support hydrogen vehicle research?
Water us becoming a huge problem in the West. Why not focus your solar power on desalination?
