Hummingbirds are so little!

Even my pet cockatiel, Luke, was bigger than hummingbirds are.

Since Putin's military wasn't ready to take on Ukrainian forces, than how is his military supposed to take on NATO forces?

I've done a lot of volunteer work over the years.

However, I have never considered myself a hero because the volunteer jobs that I've done aren't anything that risks my safety.

I've never been a volunteer firefighter or anything like that.

I think Putin would be crazy to have his military attack one or more NATO nations because I don't think his military is ready to take on NATO forces.

In my opinion, a hero isn't a famous sports athlete.

Instead, how I define a hero is someone who risks his or her life to save others.

And that's what volunteer fire fighters do (as well as the paid ones, for that matter). They often risk their lives to fight fires and save people trapped in those fires.

They certainly have my respect because of it, that's for sure.

Lots of people enjoy performing volunteer work at nursing homes. They try to help nursing home residents by visiting them and play group games such as bingo. They try (and often succeed) at putting smiles on the residences there.

However, volunteering at nursing homes isn't for everybody, even for some of those who like spending time with the elderly. Not everybody can handle working in a nursing home.

If you want to help the elderly and make a difference in their lives, but not at a nursing home, then becoming a volunteer at an assisted living home may be a better option for you. People there like getting visits from volunteers as well.

I've done volunteer work at both nursing homes and assisted living homes. I found both experiences to be good ones.

Here's another idea: if you're interested in volunteering your time helping the elderly, maybe you could try visiting residences at both an assisted living home and a nursing home to get an idea of what's the best fit for you.

Heck, maybe doing both would be what's best for you.

Either way, you really can make a difference.

If I could stop all the violence going on in Ukraine right now (as well as violence anywhere else in the world, for that matter), I would.

A few weeks ago, I stubbed my pinky toe, and it hurt for a few days.

But I'm better now too.

When I was a young child in the late 1980's, my parents and I listened to a lot of country music on the radio back then.

We'd listen to The Judds music a lot back in the day.

I've never owned a brand new car before because I've never been able to afford one.

I've always had used cars.

If I had enough money, I'd purchase a brand new vehicle.

However, I can't complain about the used cars that I've owned in the past. And my current car is nice too.

The last time the Bengals won a playoff game was during the 1990/91 season.

They just haven't had the same success as the Steelers, a division rival of the Bengals, have had over the years.

I'm not from Chicago.

But my grammatical and spelling skills need work. I admit that.

So the Bengals are 3-1 right now.

Good for them!

I'd like to see the Bengals do well enough this season to make the playoffs and maybe even win the AFC North title.

And I would like to see them actually win a playoff game, something that has eluded them for so long.

I went to college. I never graduated, however.

But I'm still glad that I tried it.

Lots of people in our world need help from others.

Fortunately, their are many folks who want to help those who need the help. Their are lots of individuals who want to assist others and make a positive impact on their lives.

If you try to help others, that's commendable on your part.

However, if you try to make a difference in the lives of others, be humble about it.

If you go out and start bragging to everyone that you help individuals, the people that you're bragging to are going to see right through it. They're going to know that you're bragging. And they may even start to think that you try to help others because it makes you look good.

So if you try to make a difference in the world, that's great, but be humble about it.

I've never heard of national underwear day until now.

I learn something new everyday.

So....my front lawn is rather green because of all the rain we've been getting here in southern Maine lately.

I'll have to mow it tomorrow.
