When Helping People, Be Humble About It

Lots of people in our world need help from others.
Fortunately, their are many folks who want to help those who need the help. Their are lots of individuals who want to assist others and make a positive impact on their lives.
If you try to help others, that's commendable on your part.
However, if you try to make a difference in the lives of others, be humble about it.
If you go out and start bragging to everyone that you help individuals, the people that you're bragging to are going to see right through it. They're going to know that you're bragging. And they may even start to think that you try to help others because it makes you look good.
So if you try to make a difference in the world, that's great, but be humble about it.

I read and believe that if you are helping people for your own purposes and are looking for feedback it’s not nearly as effective for your happiness as opposed to helping and not keeping track of what you get for it.
The law of reciprocity doesn’t address this, I suppose by definition.

Nah, that's asking for too much. If you help people and feel like bragging about it anyway, I'd say go ahead. I am not going to dissuade a braggart from helping others just because he's braggart. Lots of assistance to others are motivated by PR considerations, beliefs in karma, and/or tax benefits. So what? Go ahead and help anyway.
