I've never owned a brand new car before because I've never been able to afford one.
I've always had used cars.
If I had enough money, I'd purchase a brand new vehicle.
However, I can't complain about the used cars that I've owned in the past. And my current car is nice too.

My daughter's Ford C Max was t-boned last week and is now totaled. No worries, she was sore for a day but is fine now. BUT the real kicker is that, because of the price increase in used cars, the insurance is giving us more money for the car than what we paid for it.
Now, the hunt is on for another used car.
