@Larry said in Senate Intelligence report on 2016 Russian election interference:

You have no proof that he knew it. But that doesn't even matter, because he didn't collude with them, or participate in any way. We know for a fact that the FBI attempted to set him up and trap him. That's been proven. We know for a fact that Hillary and the DNC participated in it, having paid million for the "Steele dossier", which was filled with Russian propaganda designed to hurt Trump, not help him.

What the Russians were actually trying to accomplish was to create chaos. And the were counting on the Left/democrats to rush in and greedily give it to them.

Obama sanctioned them in December 2016 for this. So.... Trump knew it. That's the proof.

Say you have a family dispute - and your asshole neighbor Bob tries to horn in on it and play your family members against one another.

You find out about it. Now Bob is not going to be the deciding factor in your family dispute.

    But do you:

    • A) Tell Bob to fuck off

    • B) Pretend like Bob didn't do anything because Bob won't listen to you and hey, you might have not been nice to him in the past either - so you had it coming. Then you get mad at your own son for uncovering that Bob was meddling.

Maybe there's more options. But Trump chose B

Why did Obama wait until the election was over? He'd known what they were doing for over a year. He also knew that the FBI and the CIA were engaging in illegal attempts to entrap innocent people connected to Trump as they tried to trap Trump. Why didn't he do anything about that? Oh wait... he didn't do anythi g about it while it was all happening because he was involved in it. This has been proven by statements made by Susan Rice as well as the two FBI agents caught in the attempted coup.

Your logic on the matter is funny.

That's a huge question... Can it be proven Obama knew the skulduggery was going on?

    Yes.

The Meuller investigation brought the rope. John Brennan hung it around Obama's neck.

So - you’re going to work from the premise that intelligence was out to get Trump.

Then yes - my logic doesn’t work. Like the Senate, you have to believe the IC for my logic to work.

In light of that your defense of Trump also makes sense.

Which GOP senators do you know of who have said the intelligence community didn't engage in the things I've shown? They certainly didn't say it in this report.

I'm not saying anything beyond “Russian meddled in our elections”

              I’ve made no further claims.

Well, yes, you have. But pushing that aside, I think everyone knows that and has for a long time. Years even. So what? Do you think they didn't interfere as much as they could in every election since WWII? The outrage over this is simply deliberate naivete.

Only other claims I've made are about Trump's reaction.

Which bucks that conventional and obvious wisdom - (on Putin):

“Every time he sees me he says, 'I didn't do that,' and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it.”

And I don't think Russian meddling is benign and it is different with social media. They run troll farms to stoke political divisions and create sharable content on facebook, reddit and the like.

What were they going to do in the 50's against us? Run TV ads? And we were in a literal nuclear standoff with them, along with proxy wars. So I don’t think our leaders were saying nice things about them at the time.

I’m not saying you go to war with Russia or even sanction them like Obama did.

A good start would be acknowledging it and not undermining your own intelligence over it.

After the last four years history you think Trump can come out and say that? You haven’t been paying attention.

We must have patience. This will all be sorted out over time. Note today's revelation that Russia wanted Trump to win. It was a basic common knowledge that anyone with a 6th grade education could see. "Oh no" the Republicans said. But now we know for fact. One fact at a time. It will all come out in the end. And over time, even the ostriches will realize they've been hoodwinked by a crook. A con man who can't even put a sentence together in a press conference. (it's no wonder why he doesn't do these things, he comes off as an utter fool). He projects his weaknesses to others. He deflects and throws a shiny penny when he's cornered. The ostriches all ogle over the penny and forget the sad sack liar for a moment. What was it today? Immigration. It will be something else tomorrow. All to deflect his incompetence over this crisis. History will be a harsh mistress to this administration and to all the fools who fell for it. And another thing, after all these years, I am certain now, Jolly and Larry are one person. A bullying troll of a human. No wonder he likes Trump. He is their mirror reflection.

                                    McCarthy gets it.

                                      Quote from his article:

Did the intelligence community competently conclude that Russia interfered in the 2016 campaign?

No one is asking that question because, for the vast majority of people closely following the collusion caper, that would be like asking whether the Chiefs won the Super Bowl..

There’s one notable person who doesn’t agree with that conclusion. And that was my singular point with this thread.

Yes - there’s much chatter about connecting this back with collision. I wasn’t talking about that.

My point was more amazement on how much of a curve this President gets graded on.

                                        McCarthy certainly does get it.

No it wasn't. Your point was purely about the fact that Russia meddled. Quote "They sought to denigrate Hillary and boost Trump". First off, that's not even accurate. The Russians fed propaganda to Hillary and the DNC meant to HARM Trump and boost Hillary. The did it through Christopher Steele. Maybe you've heard a little about that...

The fact is, you started this thread because you saw it as another opportunity to smear Trump, and you very first sentence was a total perversion of the facts. Now you claim your point was that you were amazed at "How much of a curve this president gets graded on" - one of the most ridiculous statements you could make given the irony of it.
