Dana Perino just commented that she's been around a lot of protests in the Capitol building, and the police, etc, have always been prepared for things - most recently the BLM protests.

How is it that they were not prepared for this, she asks? They've known about this for weeks.

Well, jon, who could have known something like this might happen! We've only had to put up with "stole the election" horseshit for months, this all just came out of the blue, really! You can't honestly tell me anyone anticipated something like this.

Looking for the silver lining - the mere fact that this happened will act as something of a pressure release valve for his side. Not a total one, obviously, but a little bit of catharsis.

Another silver lining, a lot more republican politicians are going to be able to disassociate now.

I think it's interesting that the Dems are screaming for the National Guard and running for the exits. Seemed like they enjoyed anti-fa in the streets and idiots in the Senate office building elevators.

Maybe they need to understand that in order for the country to function, people do have to work together, without looking down their nose at the people they are trying to persuade.

This will die down, politicians will go home and clean their underwear, and if anybody has any sense, there will be a national fair election bill passed in Congress within 30 days. But the latter won't happen.
And eventually, things will get bad enough that insurrection kicks off for real. Then, we'll all have fun. If the middle class gets mad enough, things could get downright ruthless and they'll let the next geberation figure out the moral high ground.
