I took the 7:00am flight from Miami to LGA this morning. That flight would normally be undersold, I’d likely get upgraded.

Totally full today, with buyout offers for delaying.

I assume those who would have flown in the afternoon flew early to get settled before the superb owl.

I went grocery shopping this afternoon. Big mistake. It was like a zombie apocalypse in there. Slightly less insane than Foxboro used to get, but still, hoardes of New Englanders came out of whatever institution they've been sheltering in for the last 7 years to hunt down vast quantities of meat and chips.

      I was only joking

I stopped by the store on the way home from LGA around 11:30am. I was expecting chaos but it wasn’t bad. It probably hit early afternoon, especially since it was cold AF today.

I stopped to pick up some peppers and tomatoes around 5:30. It wasn’t bad at all.

              God I miss Whitney.

The usual understated brouhaha does little for me, but by God you have a truly great national anthem.

Apparently they did not broadcast the most exciting part of the game.

Thank you. We swiped yours for another popular patriotic song as well.

I wonder what the arrest charge was and how much he was paid by the company. Obviously, he thought it was worth it, but since it wasn't on TV, I wonder if the company will pay him less. 🙂

If they do, they stole the melody from the British. From Google:

It took 117 years for "The Star-Spangled Banner" to become the ...
The melody for "The Star-Spangled Banner" originated from "To Anacreon in Heaven" (also known as "The Anacreontic Song"), composed around 1775 by British composer John Stafford Smith. It served as the official constitutional anthem for the Anacreontic Society, a London-based gentlemen's music club.
                      Wikipedia

Key details regarding the melody's origins:
Original Purpose: The song was created for amateur musicians to perform at social meetings, celebrating music, wine, and the Greek poet Anacreon.

In other words it was originally an English gentlemen’s drinking song.

I’ll take La Marseillaise any day over any other anthem. A true rabble rowser to the barricades if there ever was one.

                      Elbows up!

I had to admit I was not familiar with the French anthem, so I gave it a listen. I like it!

Also fun to know that Key stole a good drinking song for ours. I was referring to God save The King for Our Country Tis Of Thee.

There is nothing new under the sun.
