Will we have a free election in 28? Or even 26?

I think it's fair to say we can expect a right old pantomime.

Hopefully Father Time will help encourage Mr Trump to... not be as involved in 2028.

So it will ultimately come down to whether he’s willing to defy scotus. That’s not too comforting.
Again, refusing to leave would require a military coup. He will be escorted out of the building if he does not leave willingly, and then it would come down to force vs force, if necessary.

He declares some votes “fraudulent”, ergo his guy actually won the state, a compliant state gop sends electors, the house and VP certifies them. No tanks needed.
That’s what he tried in 2020 and a handful of patriots stopped him, up to his veep.

wrote 16 days ago last edited by@jon-nyc Final adjudication of any of those shenanigans, now as then, would be up to SCOTUS, as soon as some entity with standing challenged the friendly judgement calls from institutional Maga enthusiasts. I guess I can only say this so many times, but it remains the answer to your question, regardless of how many times the subject is brought up.

Wow. Just wow.

That’s one step above calling me deranged. But which of my propositions in the first post do you think are true?
-
Why should I believe any of these three propositions:
-
Trump will accept a loss (even with him not on the ballot) without claiming it was fraud.
-
Trump won’t order DoJ (or even DoD) to seize voting machines, etc
-
Pam Bondi and Kash Patel won’t comply with such an order.
If you think my concern is misplaced tell me why rather than just say I’m deranged.

Your restriction doesn't mean it's not TDS. It is TDS.
And it is highly unlikely that he will live through is term. Given people spreading nonsense like the above I think there is an audience who will take this as a call to action. The voices are not just in the perps head, they are everywhere, even here.
And Mr. Trump is for the most part a law abiding citizen, the fabrications to the contrary are fabrications.

It will depend on how close it is.
- Trump won’t order DoJ (or even DoD) to seize voting machines, etc
No standing. These are state elections with state law enforcement.
- Pam Bondi and Kash Patel won’t comply with such an order.
Whether they do or not is irrelevant. The Court has shown their willingness to stand up to him. I suspect Congress is as well.

He claims he won the popular vote in California as well as nationally in 2016. Not exactly close.
No standing. These are state elections with state law enforcement.
That’s a court decision. He can send Kash’s goons to collect machines without going to courts. Yeah the states could sue but not until after he’s got them.

Congress would in 28, as it’ll be democratically controlled. Which is why I’m concerned about 26.
But really it comes down to whether he’ll defy the courts, as his VP and most maga influencers are already asking him to.

Maybe this will give you a clue:
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5266301-trump-memo-targeting-actblue/amp/
[Trump] directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate allegations of straw donations and contributions made from foreigners, according to a White House official.

Theories about Trump remaining in power just because he chooses to, are great, until you realize he doesn't have a way to enforce staying in power. Except through a military coup. And round and round the argument goes. I promise, any story where Trump steals the presidency, is a theft by force. Military, police, etc. There has never been a coherent story where Trump steals the presidency through paperwork.

A military backed coup is theoretically possible in the US, but it won’t be for Trump. You can take that to the bank.

The Trump Organization has begun selling red hats online with the slogan "Trump 2028" embroidered in bright white along the front, as well as T-shirts with the slogan.
The hats were listed for $50 with the description: "The future looks bright! Rewrite the rules with the Trump 2028 high crown hat. Fully embroidered with a snap closure in the back, this will become your new go-to hat."

Well, it could be another Trump.

I heard a hypothesis that Trump likes to imagine the possibility of Trump 2028, and likes to put the possibility out there, so he can feel he's not a lame duck president. So he can act and be treated as if he's not lame duck. Makes sense.
-

I doubt he’d be treated as a lame duck anyway, at least by the GOP, what with his control over his ~40MM mindslaves.

For the immediate future, will he accept the results of the Canadian election? He's said that the Canadians really want to be part of the US, however this seems a tad controversial, so it's just conceivable that he could be mistaken. Hard to countenance such a thing, I know.
