Tesla pivots and starts producing gas powered (or hybrid) trucks in the US by 2026.

It will be hybrid, and that's where the market is right now.

If they don’t already have one in the works, I’d be surprised if they could come up with one in that short a timeframe. Unlikely they do, as there’s typically a multi years long hype as design takes it’s sweet ass time to become a product.
Still, if it would actually have the functions of a truck, (not like the silly toy Cyberdork) I’d consider one.

Well I’ll declare victory if they announce it.

Though ‘Tesla’ would be an odd name for it. Might need a mechanical-age equivalent as a brand name. Watt?

Market niche they might be good at: PHEV, especially in a compact SUV.
They could source CVTs from JATCO and do their own ICE.

Musk likes his company names. He should name it Otto Mobiles, named after Nicolaus Otto who invented the first gas engine.

How about The Wankel?
Named after the famous German engine designer, Felix Wankel.
Although that name might rub people up the wrong way, it would be quite appropriate.

Trump floats the idea of Venezuela-style price controls and threatens companies if they don’t lower their prices.
(This is contingent on his actually durably implementing tariffs of the magnitude he’s currently talking about)

Wow. It is remarkable to consider the fact that this guy is this incompetent and damaging, but was still better than the alternative? FFS, what are we doing here?

Most economists will tell you that tariffs are an effective strategy to combat wokeism.

Sounds like you’re familiar with Ricardo’s Theory of Comparative Wokevantage.
Impressive.

It's been quite clear to me that the alternative was better.

Then you should have been spreading the good word on larger mediums than this. You failed us all, Ax.
