First, Putin's Russia benefits from higher oil prices and relaxed sanctions on Russian oil, now China's renewable energy business gets a boost.

    The commies are winning.

Now the war with Iran has laid bare the risks of reliance on Middle Eastern oil and gas. Countries are realizing that all paths to renewable power run through China and its exporters.

Even if a cease-fire between the United States and Iran helps ease disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the shock has already grabbed the attention of governments worldwide. Faced with energy shortages, they are accelerating efforts to upgrade their power grids, bringing them to the doorstep of Chinese companies eager to supply them.

So what? China runs out of oil on June 8th. Ryan McBeth--a good analysis.

Bottom line is this war (except for a few dollars at the pump) isn't hurting me at all. Maybe higher prices for delivery of some things later on--but I'm not seeing a personal downside from the whole thing. And--some stocks are up and some are down. Overall I see a bit of a loss but that's a random occurrence anyway.

Before you know it he’ll be negotiating Obama’s old JCPOA back into existence.

You wonder how much this frustrates those who have dedicated their lives to middle east strategy, war games, policies, only to have Trump one day while eating a Big Mac say with a stuffed mouth "Hey, why don't we just bomb them and then send vulgar tweets with bluff threats?"

@89th He really lacks a long term vision on so many things. Or maybe he thinks he does but is not able to make the necessary connections and potential consequences. Or maybe a combination of the above.

But, long term vision for a politician is not easy, whether it is President Trump or somebody else They rarely look past the next election.

So S&P back to pre war levels. Will the bull market bounce back?

There are a lot of big energy and energy related companies on the S and P. And wars tend to stimulate the economy at least in the short term. Also there might be some Trump Fatigue Syndrome. Anyway, all good.
