So how should I resign?

Stay polite, stay professional, stay calm.
Keep #1, meaning your lovely self, in the forefront -- meaning all other issues (like what you think you can cope with and what you can't; that's your thing and has nothing to do with getting out of that place alive) need to stay in the parking lot.
I worry that if that woman is crazy, it's difficult if not impossible to head her off at the pass, so to speak. No matter what you do, no matter how much thought you put into how to resign in the best fashion, you've no way to know how she'll react.
That's why I like George's advice. Polite, professional, COOL, and as dispassionate as you can manage. And brief.Don't overthink it.
Because, when all is said and done, what else can you do???

Replying to my ownself with a belated thought. Some good advice I redd some time ago was this: Don't waste time worrying about what you can't control. Concentrate on what you can control.
You have no way of knowing how this woman will react, and you have no control over it. Let her do what she'll do, and concentrate on escaping as little scathed as possible. -

When you deliver the note, bring donuts, or maybe cupcakes.

Yeah, I agree with Jolly, George and Cat's advice. The short letter is good, gets you the hell out of there and you can concentrate on your future.
Leave, and let them stew in their miserable lives.

- It doesn't actually say you have been exposed.
- It will keep them from calling you in for a face-to-face. Anybody can look like hell on the webcam.
- It gives you an out to quit immediately.
- It may singe the timbers a bit, but it burns no bridges.
- It is true they taught you something.

You sir are a genius.

I hope Jolly doesn't mind the changes.

That's a brilliant solution Jolly.

"A place which has taught me so much...."
That made me spit (cheap) Scotch all over my keyboard. It's certainly accurate, isn't it, LOL?
See the other note in there? If you didn't the first time then I think it's a pretty good indication that I can roll with it.
(And I know, right? A more Southern insult I've never seen.
)

Duuuuuuude. That is nice. So subtle theyโll never notice. But at least youโll know.

That hidden message you put. Steganography...you haz it.
Itโs one of those things that no one will notice, but if someone does they will immediately know it was deliberate.

Oh I'm sure you're wrong about that, I'm sure it's just an outrageous coincidence.

And it'll fit pretty well because a couple of folks begin their all-staff emails like that as well.
I mean, I gotta get in at least something.

I can't believe I missed this thread while I was gone.
Good letter! Jolly nailed it with his suggestions.
Yes, I see you added some of your personal style to it as well. Take satisfaction in that.
Keep us posted on the response.
If you decide to take cupcakes, remember, no Ex-Lax.
