When contacted Monday morning, the Liberty County Sheriff's Office said it would have a statement by the end of the day but nothing was provided.

    Doesn’t sound promising.

@jon-nyc No one on the bus asked if they had a search warrant or probable cause?

@jon-nyc I'd like to know more, too. But the sheriff better have a good (and truthful) explanation. This looks bad.

The worst thing he can do is lie to make his men look better than they were. If he does and it gets out, things could get, in the words of writer CJ Box, "real western". Better he 'fesses up and administers penalties, if that in fact is called for.

Whatever the truth, it leaves a bad taste and a bad smell.

            More: https://www.wdel.com/news/humiliating-process-dsu-president-issues-statement-following-womens-lacrosse-bus-stop-in-georgia/article_d40ce736-cfac-11ec-a939-537099d7051b.html

The story says it all started with two deputies and then grew to six, plus K9s. I wonder how many of the six were black. Oh, but [face slap] I guess that would depend on how many black deputies are in the department!

The sheriff is black. Not sure why they circled the bus with the dog.

The sheriff tried to defend the stop-and-search, but body cam videos contradict the sheriff’s statements.

@Axtremus Yeah, and I'm still wondering why the dog on a routine traffic violation stop.

And if the dog alerted to drugs, why did the depitties not find any drugs???

So the case for this being a race thing, hinges on the cops escalating the investigation after noticing the bus was filled with black people. Seems everybody agrees that the initial stop was blind to that information.

                      What color was the bus?

Apparently it was running pretty fast, if that tells you anything.

                          It wasn't the color.
