What does everyone think about the release of Mullah Baradar under Trump, co founder of the Taliban, and now apparently in charge?

The Trump administration had struck a deal with this guy where he agreed to make the Taliban more civil and less terroristic. In spite of the cluster fuck Biden has caused, this seems to be working, as the Taliban leadership held a press conference vowing to not seek retribution, to allow women more civil rights, including the right to attend school. In fact, if they follow through on all the things they said, Afghanistan could end up less like Iran and more like Saudi Arabia, relatively peaceful but a strict Islamic state.

The U.S. Air Force says its Office of Special Investigations is reviewing an incident at the Kabul airport Monday in which multiple people were killed when hundreds of Afghan civilians desperate to leave the country swarmed a C-17 cargo plane as it was attempting to take off.

The Air Force did not say how many people died. It said human remains were found in the plane's wheel well after it landed at al-Udeid Air Base in the Gulf state of Qatar.

Videos of the incident, including images of people falling from the aircraft as it took off, were widely viewed on social media. The images captured the initial chaos of a U.S.-directed evacuation that followed the Taliban's takeover of the country.

I'm sorry, what's to investigate? Seems pretty clear what happened.

I never really appreciated how much of the job investigating has become. I have to believe it’s been written about it and it must have to do with the 2 year election cycle.

I think the House in particular is just a running for election treadmill. It’s aligned nicely with social media, always producing drama, click bait and alleged cliffhangers.

Plus you got to remember what 'doing an investigation' could mean. It probably means the Speaker and/or the Majority Leader appoints a committee . . . which meets once, maybe twice if one of the meetings is during lunch and includes Scotch . . . then the committee members are, I dunno, too busy or something . . . then six months go by and people stop asking about it . . . and the public's attention span being what it is, the
investigation fades into nothing, though it is forcefully claimed to be still ongoing.

                        Aggression and agitation in dementia

Behavioral and psychological symptoms are very common in dementia, and affect up to 90% of people living with dementia. In addition to memory changes, people with dementia may experience agitation, psychosis, anxiety, depression, and apathy. These behavioral symptoms often lead to greater distress than memory changes.

Wasn’t what he was saying last week.

@george-k said in Biden "Forcefully" defends Afghan withdrawal:

                                  George Stephanopolis interviewed Biden.

"There's no way we could have gotten out without chaos," said POTUS.

                                  He seemed very angry.

He is so inept on this topic. Again, his July 8th comments were crystal clear and now clearly the complete opposite of what happened.

How else could this have been handled? Umm, waiting until you’ve evacuated all of our afghan partners (translators etc) and US assets before dismantling our military force over there?

Yes. And the RWEC is calling for the release of the full, unedited, video of the interview.

Stephanopoulos responds that they're releasing the full transcript.

Not good enough, says Hewitt. Release the Kraken full video.

He's had work done, but it doesn't look terrible, all things considered. After all, he's like 100 years old.
