That's what they do.
I never really appreciated how much of the job investigating has become. I have to believe it’s been written about it and it must have to do with the 2 year election cycle.
I think the House in particular is just a running for election treadmill. It’s aligned nicely with social media, always producing drama, click bait and alleged cliffhangers.

Plus you got to remember what 'doing an investigation' could mean. It probably means the Speaker and/or the Majority Leader appoints a committee . . . which meets once, maybe twice if one of the meetings is during lunch and includes Scotch . . . then the committee members are, I dunno, too busy or something . . . then six months go by and people stop asking about it . . . and the public's attention span being what it is, the
investigation fades into nothing, though it is forcefully claimed to be still ongoing. -

He is so inept on this topic. Again, his July 8th comments were crystal clear and now clearly the complete opposite of what happened.
How else could this have been handled? Umm, waiting until you’ve evacuated all of our afghan partners (translators etc) and US assets before dismantling our military force over there?

In spite of the cluster fuck Biden has caused, this seems to be working, as the Taliban leadership held a press conference vowing to not seek retribution, to allow women more civil rights, including the right to attend school. In fact, if they follow through on all the things they said, Afghanistan could end up less like Iran and more like Saudi Arabia, relatively peaceful but a strict Islamic state.
As Quirt would undoubtedly say, if not spell, colour me skeptical.
