Any investment in time has to be worth it. It used to be that people used to enjoy debating ideas. Now ideological purity and echo chambers reign supreme. I don’t enjoy either but clearly a diverse ecosystem is a shrinking market everywhere.

It’s too bad. Lots of really interesting stuff gets introduced here and it appears those that left have better things to do with their time. It kind of sounds like the remaining people need to get ready for that day. I hope not but having a plan b is always a good idea.

I didn't rank order. I said the core is more important than the periphery. That's stone cold truth, whether you like it or not. I can show you several internet forums that are barely functioning. We talked about one in this thread already. It takes more than one person, it takes a core group.

I like to hear your thoughts. I think you are a well-educated man with a somewhat unique perspective and skils everyone does not have. But the Truth is that if the board depended solely on you, or people with your erratic posting proclivity, it would have died years ago.

That is my opinion.

Probably would have, that's true. I just don't care. It's not like anyone out there is in danger of having their families dissolve if Facebook were to get shut down, and it's the same for this place. The board isn't a prerequisite for knowing and sharing stuff with the people who participate here.
