How about that Amanda Gorman?

The message was wonderful, appropriate, and a joy to listen to.
As for the poetry as poetry itself:
- Of all the rhetorical, literary, linguistic, and phonetic tools at her disposal, she chooses only a small handful and tries to prop up the vacancy with the importance of the message. (Warning: this is quite obviously a deliberate trap I've tried to spring on you.)
- Pro tip: being performative while reciting poetry is like hiring loose women to run your merch booth after the concert. You wouldn't have to do it if the product actually had any music to it.
This isn't intended to detract from her excellent performance and no I'm not a racist.
Some poets have trouble with the venue

Earlier this month, an author quit a job translating Gorman’s poem into Dutch following objections to their appointment by Dutch publisher Meulenhoff because they were not Black.
