The question no one's been asking...

It's been four years... are we great again?
If you look at what Trump was able to accomplish in the first 2-3 years of his presidency, it's actually pretty impressive to any conservative. Unfortunately he completely fumbled the pandemic, and his attempts to undermine a free and fair election he lost has completely turned him into likely the single worst president in history. So the short answer to your question is a resounding no.

Jesus. Are you bored? Feeling like you need to stir the pot? Who’s your target... just name the people.
I'm guessing bored...

It’s just us here. The capitol protestors aren’t reading our forum. There are no pots to stir.
It was a popular question when he was running as the beginning of his term “what does MAGA mean”.
I just realized last night (yes, I was probably bored with the news of the day) that no one asks it anymore and we’re at the end of his term now.
If you asked a survey question to Americans, what % would you think would say yes?

It was part of Colbert's show last night; I presume Xenon was just referencing it.

@aqua-letifer yeah I saw it on Twitter.. didn’t think the context would translate.
But I do remember having dumb arguments about it a couple of years ago. Had an “oh yeahhhh, I remember that” moment.

I had decided I was gone. I made the mistake of opening this thread, and what you wrote is so stupid I have to respond. Then I likely won't ever come here again, and I don't mind telling you that after literally YEARS of taking shots from all sorts of people, it is you and your stupid bull headedness that has caused me to just fucking give up on this place.
No, Trump did NOT fumble the pandemic. And I'm fucking sick of you repeating that bull shit. The pandemic that got fumbled was the H1N1 virus that even Obama's own people have said it was just sheer dumb luck that it wound down on it's own. Trump cleared the way for coming up with a vaccine in less than a year, the fastest ANYZ vaccine has ever been done. So stop with the bull shit.
Second, I'm sorry, but the election was STOLEN. Yes, Trump overplayed his hand at his last rally and a small group of bad actors showed their ass, and stained his presidency. But he fact remains that Biden did NOT win by legal votes, the election WAS stolen, so fuck you. Lastly, and then you can have the place - this time next year after a year of democrat rule you'll wish you'd never heard of Joe Biden.

With or without Covid in the mix?

Obviously it’s all baked in. I don’t think natural disasters and the like increase or decrease the greatness of a country. (Maybe the response could)

Ok, I was wrong. Might not be the worst president in history, but is probably in the top 4 along with Fillmore, Buchanan, and Harrison (Benjamin, not William).

Larry's last TNCR post.

Ok, so who was more important to this place, you or Larry?
(I'd make a great Jewish mother. How's that for guilt? )

@mik said in The question no one's been asking...:
I miss Larry a lot. But it was not 89th’s fault.
C'mon, man! I'm on a roll!
In all seriousness, the TDS shit had hit a crescendo not long before that. Look at Jon's post count. Look at 89th's stuff. And a couple of others. If you supported Trump or even if you were on the fence, you were faced with a wall of shit everyday.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's well within the rules of the place. The only thing that is amusing, are the folks that show up during a political donnybrook, and then you don't see them again for years.
Nature of the beast, I guess...

@jolly said in The question no one's been asking...:

I think that the saying - "the total is more than each individual piece" is correct for TNCR.
The nice thing about this place is the variety of opinions and philosophies here. Anybody who leaves here causes a loss for everybody here.
So no, I dont think that @Larry is/was more important than @89th When said "coherently", both have been great additions to the board.
Larry posted a lot of interesting stuff but also alot of mean stuff. Sometimes it was quite difficult to see past the mean stuff to see the interesting stuff.

Not getting into a pissing match, but just pointing out some cold, hard facts...Participation drives boards like this. The less participation you have, the sooner they wither and die. Nothing against you, Opti, Friday, 89th or several others, but if the board suddenly lost Jon, George, Mik, Copper, Ax, Phibes and myself, you could turn off the lights. Same for just about any place when it comes to core groups...Look across the fence and ask yourself how long they would survive in any interesting form, if wtg, Steve Miller, Quirt and Nina all decided to head for the exits.
