This was Cheney’s signature career accomplishment starting as DoD Sec in the 90s and even chairman of the house armed services committee before that.He was also a Paul Ryan fiscal conservative.
MAGA’s treatment of his daughter may have been sufficient on its own, but Cheney’s aversion to Trump is overdetermined.

If anyone needs a summary of what he rambled about at the World Economic Forum surrounded by some of the smartest people on the planet:

I’m likely the least educated of anyone here, but I had this wild thought: Does Putin hold anything over your U.S. president? If so, could Russia benefit in any way, like if your president actually acquired Greenland?

Only if it resulted in the dissolution of NATO and possibly the EU. Events of the past hour however indicate neither of those are going to happen so, no, Russia would receive
zero benefit. -
