This reminds me of the comment from the guy on Odd Lots - who after Trump can effectively ‘straddle the two Ps’ (populism and Peter Thiel, the latter being an avatar for the tech right)

How does that jive with Trump’s policy to not allow states to regulate AI?

First, you need a functioning Legislative Branch ...

I think not long from now when it sinks in a lot of Trump’s supporters are going to be pissed that he didn’t even try to introduce immigration reform legislation. I don’t think it would have been hard to pass something reforming asylum laws, for example.

It looks to me the majority of Trump's supporter is more into performative pwning of the libs than fixing the immigration system.
