I think because phones ringing everywhere was getting on people nerves. I know it does for me. If I am expecting a call, I will keep the volume at a low level to make sure I answer the call. Most of the time it's on vibrate and I have most notifications turned off.

My phone is very rarely on vibrate.

But it very rarely rings, maybe a few times per month.

Mine's on vibrate. My wife's has the default ringer.

I rarely mind, if I happen to miss a call.

I leave mine on ring unless I'm in a meeting or something. I really don't use it very much as a phone. Jabbering on for hours isn't something I have any interest in.

          I was only joking

The people I am talking to in person always takes priority over any phone call coming through. Period. So I have always only used vibrate.

I was going to agree with Mark, but I echo each reply so far. Most notifications are off, only turn on ringer if I expect an important call, rarely used as a phone, don't mind missed phone calls, don't really like chatting on phone for a while (never have, I think I got this from my grandpa who was awesome at being short and efficient with calls), and @LuFins-Dad ... hell yeah. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I'm in a store and a phone call "cuts in line" if I'm talking with an employee. Good on ya.

Ringer, but a very pleasant, non-jarring tone.

Just don't set your phone on the table. It will vibrate itself halfway across the table before you can barely catch it, and it makes a clattering buzz as it walks away from you. Because it's not my phone, it amuses me. Mine is on silent.

Mine rings - the pocket watch chimes theme from the movie A Few Dollars More.

I take a lot of calls, because I run my business off my phone...It's always on vibrate. I'd put it totally on silent, but having it on vibrate helps me find it when I need to use my wife's phone to call and find mine.

Even on silent though, my gps watch will buzz, and show me caller id/text info...I previously had no interest in anything close to a smart watch, but that little feature alone gets me thinking.

If you have an iPhone and Apple Watch, you can "ping" the phone from the watch. D4 is constantly misplacing her phone and it's a godsend.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Mine is always on vibrate because I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to turn on the ringer yet. (It's always in the same place and a little red light appears when sombody calls).

My wife does that too. I’ve told her she has lost her fine motor skill of remembering where she left her phone since she just relies on that feature.
