    Another fire. Surely, a coincidence.

It's hard to ferret them out when they blend in so well...being kinda Russian and all. I hope they are behind it. Great idea if so.

Could just as easily be an FSB false flag operation. It would not be the first time. Remember those apartment buildings that blew up around Moscow twenty or so years ago? Usual suspects turned out be Chechens until some FSB operatives screwed up and we’re caught by the local gendarmerie. A cover up ensued. Still didn’t stop Putin from turning the whole of Chechnya into a smouldering heap of ash with public approval a couple of years later.

The naif in me hadn't even considered that. I wouldn't put it out of Putin's playbook, of course.

:Remember those apartment buildings that blew upon and around twenty or so years ago... public approval a couple of years later.

With the presumed loss of hundreds of Russian sailors on the Moskva, I wouldn't put it outside of his toolkit to gin up support.

The rhetoric coming out of the Kremlin has changed slightly the past 5 or so days. Earlier it was an operation to denazify Ukraine and rescue Russian speakers. Now the rhetoric is that Russia is engaged against NATO and is rescuing the world from the NATO’s global reach.

Regardless of the the total NATO membership, in the mind of the most Russians NATO exclusively means one country, the USA.

            Right now it’s WWIII, lite.

There might be a growing “Hell no, we won’t go” movement cropping up in some regions of Tsar Vladimir’s fiefdom. A rather militant one at that:

This is 120 km from the Ukrainian border.

                        Sabotage?

Again, this has gone so spectacularly badly for Russia that I have to wonder if it was not somehow orchestrated by the outside.

Yes, Mr. Biden tricked them into invading Ukraine.
