I've got no problem with letting people live their lives as they see fit as long as it doesn't interfere with other people's rights to live their lives as they see fit.

Is there any actual current rule that would limit a Lia Thomas sort to just identify as a woman and compete against women? Or is there some sort of rule, an accidental nod to reality, saying the trans woman has to have had hormones or a procedure?

I believe there is some kind of hormone limits. I heard an announcer mention something about that the other day. Apparently Mx Thomas followed the NCAA rules.

It’s a bit more controversial than that, The NCAA originally punted and deferred to the national authorities for the various sports. When that came out it included a time restriction that would have eliminated Thomas. So the NCAA did their own rule after all.

On twitter there is a video of two members of the crowd watching the race, discussing Thomas.

One of them says, "I'm not a veterinarian, but I know what a dog looks like."

Whatever. Anything boys can do, girls can do better. What you're seeing is not the effects of hormones or strength. Sure, directly those are the proximate causes. But the real cause is institutionalized misogyny, which over the generations has caused the hormone gap.
