Approximately three quarters (346; 74%) of cases occurred in fully vaccinated persons (those who had completed a 2-dose course of mRNA vaccine [Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna] or had received a single dose of Janssen [Johnson & Johnson] vaccine ≥14 days before exposure). Genomic sequencing of specimens from 133 patients identified the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in 119 (89%) and the Delta AY.3 sublineage in one (1%). Overall, 274 (79%) vaccinated patients with breakthrough infection were symptomatic. Among five COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized, four were fully vaccinated; no deaths were reported. Real-time reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) cycle threshold (Ct) values in specimens from 127 vaccinated persons with breakthrough cases were similar to those from 84 persons who were unvaccinated, not fully vaccinated, or whose vaccination status was unknown (median = 22.77 and 21.54, respectively).

Now how do those numbers compare to unvaccinated with Delta?

Ok so of the sample size, 1.5% were hospitalized and 0.0% die.
That's still about 1 in 75 people. Good about the deaths, though.

I was recently told about an exceptional (high viral load) case with CT=16. When I asked what was normal he said “more like 21”. Granted that was informally off the top of his head.

”There’s a rush to get shots that correlates with delta’s rise and hospitalizations,” …
There are signs of people previously hesitant about getting vaccinated changing their minds as they see more people getting infected and even hospitalized due to the Delta variant.

I remember laughing at the conspiracy theorists who doubted the scientific authorities at that time. Lol what a bunch of maroons. Sociopaths with no empathy, too. Dumb, low empathy, ugly people - if there's one thing COVID has taught us, it's that they doubt science. Must be genetic.
Why can't they all just die already and leave us good people alone?
Where's my fainting couch?

These didn't age well:
Misinformation, you should know better @George-K
He said that based on the evidence and trials at that point, all 3 had been effective in that regard.
Which was true.

Which was true.I'm constantly amazed that this is what we keep hearing.

You would think that a guy like Fauci would be smart enough to understand the science will, indeed, change.
To make pronouncements like that strikes me as being a little bit reckless.
