@Copper said in "Put him in jail for resisting": That is really bad. Maybe we didn't see the whole story, but I say those cops need some time in lockup. That woman cop needs a good disciplinary talking to about proper dress. For one, she appears to be wearing nail polish. Secondly, she has visible body art - tattoos. I doubt any of that is regulation uniform or dress for a patrol cop.

@Rainman said in No Mo Coal: @Horace said in No Mo Coal: I was young and naïve when he was president. Yes, I remember! Those were such endearing qualities you used to have. We all remember! Young, and naïve. Naïve and young. Now you're worldly, sophisticated, old. Bummer. Was more fun being young and naïve, huh. But at least now I am more fully equipped to help the world. If only it opened its mind to my teachings. Just as soon as I achieve total consensus on TNCR, I will start work on the rest of the internet. Should be any day now.

I haven’t spent any time on this case but some time ago I predicted that “Chevron deference” will fall under this court. I maintain that view, and I suspect that for some other justices the facts just weren’t right in this case.

There isn’t anything meaningful to worry about. No matter how much damage leftist rioting causes, the risk they pose can be measured, by the existentialometer, as exactly zero. Threats posed by Republican candidates, on the other hand, measure as non-zero on this fair and balanced contraption. The exact threat level measured by the existentialometer is, for reasons of national security, kept secret. But it is greater than zero, and those of us with a conscience know how that compels us to vote.

@George-K When I saw the original video my first thought was women shouldn’t be judges she might have violated some standard of conduct but I wasn’t sufficiently interested to research it.

@Jolly said in Ranked choice voting?: @jon-nyc said in Ranked choice voting?: @Jolly said in Ranked choice voting?: No. Look at the absolute shit-storm in Alaska. Meh. It would be difficult to make the case that it changed the outcome. Begich voters preferred Pelota to Palin, which they communicated directly. Look at the Senate race, lad. The one in 2010, where Democrats and Republicans alike wrote in enough ballots to get Murkowsky voted in over both the Democratic and Republican candidates? What better evidence could you need that Alaskans consider the candidate over the party and the true preference of the electorate might be someone other than a party favorite.

Microtonal Guitar Institute presents Burak Akan playing Bach's Gigue from Violin Partita No. 2 arranged by Manuel Barrueco for the guitar. Burak Akan is a student at the guitar department at Istanbul Technical University, studying with me. We used Bach's student Johann Kirnberger's tuning (Kirnberger III) for this piece. The thirds are more natural than the 12tet in this tuning. For example, the tonic chord is D major with just major 3rd (D-F#) and a fifth (5.5 cents narrower than the perfect 5th). Here are the cents: D Eb-10 E-7 F-6 F#-14 G-2 G#-10 A-3.5 Bb-8 B-10.5 C-4 C#-12 Music: Violin Partita No. 2 in D Minor, BWV 1004 IV. Gigue Arrangement: Manuel Barrueco Guitarist: Burak Akan Guitar: Adjustable Microtonal Guitar (www.microtonalguitar.org) Burak Akan's YouTube: https://bit.ly/3IwmTF3

By the way, the way the ENT (or is it a chest guy) is using the laryngoscope is a sure-fire way to break teeth. Go to about 0:35-0:40 and watch him lever that thing on the incisors.
