I spent some time in LA in 92 or 93 and there was a large (to me) homeless population in and around Santa Monica. I jogged along the beach in the morning and they were spread over a couple miles.

I do not think that China will try and invade Taiwan. If it happens, I think it will be a "blockade" to try and drive Taiwan down that way. Hopefully, China is paying attention to what is happening to Russia and their economy. I think it would be much more worse for China economically, especially if the West countries respond in the same way as they did for Ukraine.
